US curling blows goats. Down 3-1 to GBR after 4 ends despite having the hammer for all 4. This won't take all 10 to be final. Awful.

Why is that every time Shuster contemplates a shot, I can smell burning rubber?

I read a preview of the USA men's hockey team had an interesting quote.

They don't lead the tournament in speed and they don't lead the tournament in talent, but they are far and away the leaders in "son of a bitchness" and that will be good enough for a medal.

As evidenced by:
Ryan Kesler at +4 so far in first game against Slovakia. Has a goal and an assist. :banger:

It was funny I was watching it during the 4th and play by play is:

US slides the rock in place to nice position for the hammer....GBR knocks rock out of position
US slides the rock in place to nice position for the hammer....GBR knocks rock out of position
US slides the rock in place to nice position for the hammer....GBR knocks rock out of position

after that I switched to watch Skeleton.....

I sometimes wonder who made up these sports and their names...It would be like a Cheech and Chong routine

hey man, hey man lets take a sled and co down on our back sides....yeah, yeah we can call it luge cause you gotta spit a big lugey when you do it....
oh yeah that's a good one and then we can go face first....yeah man and when you crash it wrecks your whole skeleton....yeah let's call it that....toke toke toke.....:pimp:

From Wikipedia:

The first recorded use of the term "luge" is 1905, from the Savoy/Swiss dialect of French "luge" meaning "small coasting sled", and is possibly from a Gaulish word with the same root as English sled'

As the popularity of the sport grew, skeleton evolved into the sport recognized today. In 1892, the sled was transformed by L. P. Child, an Englishman. The newly designed bare-bones sled resembled a human skeleton, and the sport adopted its modern name of skeleton, though it is still recognized as tobogganing in many countries.

Just an observation, but I haven't heard the commentator mention their own name on one live stream (NBC Olympics / International Feed) yet. I guess they're not supposed to.

But I'm rather enjoying the international feed announcer for speedskating (Stuart Storey).
