This sounds like fun...

Tonight: Partly cloudy skies early then becoming cloudy with periods of snow and sleet late. Low 23F with temps rising to near freezing. Winds ENE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precip 70%. About one inch of snow and ice expected.

Tomorrow: Morning rain and sleet followed by heavy rain in the afternoon. Areas of freezing rain possible early. High 37F. Winds E at 10 to 20 mph. Snow and ice accumulating around one inch.

Has this hit Ohio?

We have mainly gotten the snow so far, and it's been off and on. They keep saying the ice is coming. But who knows

Not again. I'm sure I don't have to remind anyone what happened last year...right around this time. :(

Especially if you lived in Licking county as I did. Man, that was bad. No power for a week..during christmas!

I spent 2 nights prior to Christmas eve in a hotel in the 'ville. Christmas eve and morning I was at my uncle's house, along with about 20 family members.

Kind of. It's been warm enough that the sleet/snow mixture isn't causing very much havoc, and it's more slush on sidewalks and sidestreets than ice. The highways and main roads are only wet, and not slick at all. Of course, I drive an SUV. :susp:

Last I heard, we're supposed to get around three inches of snow overnight. Normally I'd say that's no big deal (and it isn't, in Mansfield), but Cbus drivers freak, and their snow management system usually makes the roads worse as opposed to better.

I drove to Cincy and back today for interviews and it was treacherous. By that I don't mean the roads, because I was driving fine. I meant the drivers. NO ONE IN OHIO UNDERSTANDS HOW TO DRIVE IN THE SNOW!

NO ONE IN OHIO UNDERSTANDS HOW TO DRIVE!

I was in OH a couple of weeks ago. As soon as I crossed into the state I was greeted by a car in the left lane going the exact speed as the car in the right. Both were going just under the speed limit too!

Ah the standard greeting, no thanks to our crappy 65 limit...

There are three types of drivers in Ohio. There are the left lane speeders, where AI would rate myself. The slow ass pansys who are fricking dangerous. Then there are the right lane speeders. Watch out for them as they are extremely dangerous.

Winter Storm Watchfrom the National Weather Service:
/O.CON.KILN.WS.A.0001.060204T1800Z-060205T1200Z/ UNION OH-DELAWARE-MADISON-FRANKLIN OH-LICKING-PICKAWAY-FAIRFIELD- HOCKING- INCLUDING THE CITIES OF...MARYSVILLE...DELAWARE...LONDON... COLUMBUS...NEWARK...CIRCLEVILLE...LANCASTER...LOGAN 314 PM EST FRI FEB 3 2006...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING...
A WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING.
A DEVELOPING STORM OVER THE GULF STATES WILL BEGIN TO TRACK TOWARD THE UPPER OHIO VALLEY TONIGHT. AS THE STORM MOVES NORTHWARD IT WILL STRENGTHEN AND BEGIN TO SPREAD RAIN ACROSS THE REGION LATE TONIGHT. THE STORM WILL MOVE INTO WEST VIRGINIA AND ACROSS EASTERN OHIO ON SATURDAY. THE RAIN WILL MIX WITH SNOW SATURDAY MORNING AND CHANGE TO ALL SNOW SATURDAY AFTERNOON.
THE AMOUNT OF SNOW DEPENDS ON THE ACTUAL TRACK OF THIS STORM. AT THIS POINT THERE IS STILL SOME UNCERTAINTY. WITH THAT SAID... THERE IS A DISTINCT POSSIBILITY THAT MUCH OF CENTRAL OHIO COULD RECEIVE 3 TO 5 INCHES INCHES OF SNOW THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING.
REMEMBER...A WINTER STORM WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR HAZARDOUS WINTER WEATHER IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH AREA.
