Ginn & Juice

I enjoy home-made ice cream
While most of you were sitting at home watching some boring playoff games on Saturday, I was at Seven Springs Ski Resort this weekend..It was a good time except for the Ski conditions. There was like 15 of us so that made it a little better...The slopes were nothing but ice...At least 4 ski lifts were closed as were some trails, not to mention the 40mph winds at times..That was the most windy day I have ever seen....I can assure you that there was mass quantities of beer consumed at the Foggy Goggle which was the lodge bar...It was a pretty cool place...There is also a bar at the top of one of the slopes but the lift was closed for that, so I assume the bar was closed...Does anyone have any suggestions for future ski trips other than the Snow Shoe or Hidden Valley.....I checked into Snow Trails and Clear Fork is closed at the moment...Try to keep it in a 4-5 hour radius of Zanesville....

seven springs is about as good as you can get I believe. I've skied at snowshoe and seven springs, and there is no comparison. I grew up in PA, and then later in MI, and Seven Springs is the best option in IN, OH, PA imo. Vermont obviously has some decent options (Okemo was incredible, great fake snow when everyone else had ice), but I doubt that's a possibility for you.

You can get to Holiday Valley in 5 hrs. That's pretty far but it's better than SS, because they get much more snow. They get hammered all winter long with lake effect snow. They've already had over 100" this season and have 52 trails.

Save your money and drive to Lake Placid. It's closer than Vermont, steeper, never crowded and has a million other things to do. It's worth it just driving there to go on the Olympic bobsled run.

Only drawback is that is very cold. Nothing that a few layers wouldn't fix.

Thanks for the advice folks....Holiday Valley is an option..I've heard nothing but good things about it...I believe it's in New York if my memory serves me right....I guess a 6 hour trip wouldn't be to bad...My buddy told me of a place called "Blue Something"....I can't remember the name...Anyone aware of this place....

Holiday Valley and Peek'n Peak are both 10x better than anyplace in Ohio. If you are stuck in Ohio Clear Fork and Snow Trails are better Boston Mills/Brandywine. I haven't been to any others.
