SI's Mandel - Which Programs Produce Pros

but aren't they notorious for scheduling creme puff out of league teams to pad their record?
I was just about to bring that up, Troy was their biggest non-conference team this year, and KSU got beat by them.

Plus the past few year, ever since NU has been down, the Big 12 North is considerably the lesser of the two divisions of the Big 12.

They are notorious for that. But they did play a little team from the west coast called USC in 2001 and 2002, beating them both times, once at each team's home field. And they beat Cal in a kick-off classic-type game in 2003.

Yeah, cuz Eddie George was terrible and everything.

NDChief, how in the world are you talking smack when your team isn't even on the list for a single first round draft pick in the last 10 years? That's beyond pathetic.

Jeff Faine was a first rounder a few years ago and if the friggin GM's new their ass from a whole in the ground JJ would have been one...

Never said Eddie was not a great back, he was. The guy has the heart of a lion
and seems to be a great person as well.

The point is that your team isn't even at the level of a MAC school like Marshall which puts out a first rounder every 4-5 years.

edit: I appreciate the comments about eddie.

Any draft pick by the Browns should be voided from the conversation. I nearly convinced Butch Davis to draft my 3 year old in the first round last year.

iIf Jones was a 1st round pick, ND would've had as many 1st round draft picks in the last decade as the Buckeyes did in just last years draft(Will Smith and Chris Gamble.)

"For Kansas to still be a threat in the Big12 is quite an accomplishment."

Didnt the Big 12 North (KSU's division) all have teams that lost 6 games this year? They arent a bad squad, however playing teams like McNeese St., Massachusetts, Western Kentucky, UL-Laf., Ball St., Eastern Ill., LA Tech, etc. They have came up with sum impressive records lately, but their schedule doesnt exactly reflect their "greatness." Even the BIG N schools they play can be called "creme puffs" (depending upon the year). But they still get some love for comming up with good records.

I'm not all that impressed with KSU. Let me add to that: I'm not all that impressed with the Big 12. They make it a point to beat up on college football fodder in the preseason in order to build up their hype and rankings. Then they flounder about until one or two teams are ranked high enough to get embarrassed in a BCS game.

1. KSU was supposedly the team to beat in '98 (other than the Buckeyes). But then an average Purdue team figured out how to do it. They were also the hottest team in America after throttling Oklahoma in '03. OSU spanked them like a dirty slut until Tressel-ball made it close in the 4th.
2. Texas? They beat a good Michigan team last year. They've played in some exciting Holiday (I think) bowls against over-rated Pac 10 teams. Most of all, they get their asses handed to them every year by an Oklahoma team that ends up amounting to a squirt of piss when it counts. I'm not impressed yet (knock on wood).
3. Oklahoma doesn't have it where it counts. Enough said.
4. Nebraska? Sucks.
5. Colorado? Sucks.
6. Okie St? We all saw how good a 1 point favorite Okie State team was. And they said the Bucks were the most physically dominating team they played all year. Not only does that speak well for the Bucks, but it tells you something about the Big 12.
7. Mizzou? Big 12's equivalent of Minnesota. Shows promise for a while, but you can always count on them to fold.
8. Texas Tech? I'm not sure they play football. They should just get it over with and transfer to the Pac 10.
9. Baylor? Who?
10. Iowa St? Don't think so.
11. Kansas? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
12. Texas A&M? Not lately.

Although I hate the SEC and ACC, I have a lot more respect for their football ability.
