Single Game Football Tickets Tips

Let us know how it went at the Schott, :osu:

...Like clock-work!

We got in line about 7:45 a.m. We were about 55th / 60th in line. The ticket office didn't open until 9 a.m. this time and we had to stand in line a lot longer than usual for some reason (they were slower than snot!) but we got tickets...great seats for my friends!!!

There were a lot of scalpers in front of us and they were allowing you to buy up to 4 tickets a piece (and most people were) but even after we got up there, after more than 200 or so tickets were already purchased, we still bought tickets in 22AA, row 3! (50 yard line, crazy!) And the line was still open / selling seats a couple hours after we got our tickets (approx. 10:30) @ 12:30...don't know how many they sold or when they ran out, but they had a bunch.

So again, though this can't be taken as completely indicative of every game (i.e. Penn State & Michigan) and all weeks to come, I feel pretty good about our chances with most home games the rest of the season. :wink2:

Whew!

GO BUCKS!!! :osu:

I must of been about 25 prople ahead of you in that line as we got there about 7:30 and the scalpers were thick. They were offering crazy amounts to people to buy them tickets. But this definitely works. I also sat on the 50 up in C deck about 12 rows up. Best seats I've ever had. 20C row 12. Just crazy.

I only saw any ushers twice. Once going up was a younger guy and coming down the man was late 50's. Both were nice but my seats were nicer. I can't thank you enough for turning me onto that ticket in the morning gig. Face value and on the 50 yd line. Nothing else could be better.

I was the 'younger guy' (early 30s) :wink2: , side-burns & goatee.

And no sweat about the ticket info. Like I've said a hundred times...I just couldn't believe my friends and brother got to go to the Texas Game with me last year for 'face' while lots of people had to shell out hundreds if not thousands to get in. And now I'll just go over for a particular game, get in line, snag some tickets and call my Dad or brother and say, "Hey I got a pair of good seats. Get you butts in the car and get over here." That's a luxery that I never dreamed available to me and I just wanted to share that with others.

Anyway...So, I'll 'see' everyone at the Cincinnati Game!

GO BUCKS!  :osu2:

I say I was 40th or 50th in line, got there about 715. Like you guys said before me, line wasn't too bad, but moved wayyy too slow. Finally at about 10 I got my ticket, 22AA row 9, wow. Thanks for the heads up on this, I wouldn't have been able to go without reading this thread.

I got there at about 8 and was about 100 to 150th in the line. took me about 3:40 minutes to get my uncle a pair of tickets(28A) but other than that it wasnt so bad. I heard there was a fight in the line when M!ch!g@n came to town in 2004. I will have to get there at 4:00 to get cincinnati tickets so I wont have to listen to the scalpers asking "is that the best you got?" 50 times over.

Lane Ave. side, right next to the entrance for Student and Will Call ticket pick-up windows.

Thanks for the info! I am eager to try this on Saturday. I just got my tickets from UC today and they, once again, stuck me at the top of the south stands...So, I am going to spend some more money and try to upgrade.
I should be in line by...7?

7 a.m. should get you in the top 10-15 in line I would think (with a lot of scalpers as usual). Of course this beig a 12 noon game and coming off the Texas win, people might be a bit more enthusiastic than usual, so the earlier the better.

Window opened @ 8 - 8:30 last year... a little after 9:00 a.m. for N. Illinois this year. But people were still lined up plenty early. I see the same 20 to 25 people up near the front, so they must get there 6:30 or so. We're usually in line between 7:15 and 7:45 and that's good for around 25th to 75th.

I also did this...the scalpers were PISSING ME OFF. I talked with the old lady that was working, and apparently they had only one window open, when normally there is two. Also, the 12 year old kid that was working that lone window was allowing the scalpers to spend 20 minutes, each, at the window. Seriously. The scalpers were on their frickin' cell phones talking to customers before actually paying for their tickets...it was annoying as hell.

But, I did get my tickets (38AA, but only because those were the only handicapped seats left available, and I was with a buddy in a wheelchair), and it was nice. I was originally disappointed with the seats, but then everything in the game happened right in front of us (we were sitting on the aisle directly above the band), so it worked out well. FWIW, when I walked back by the Schott around 1:30 or so, there were still people in line....I ended up waiting about 3 hours, after getting in line at about 8:20. The lady I talked to said the average wait (from years past) for where I was in line was about an hour, so hopefully things pick up in the future.

Has anyone tried this for a "BIG GAME"? I am curious how early I would have to get there next saturday when OSU plays penn state. I would be willing to get there around 630-7. How do you think I would fare? Any suggestions or opinions would be greatful. Thanks!

I'm also curious about this. How about Michigan? How early would I have to get in line?

Texas, last year.

We got there at 7:30...got tickets, then a friend of mine got back in line and bought more.

A guy we've talked to more than once said he does this for the Michigan game every (home) year. He said he only got shut out once, for a Michigan Game. The window opened...4 total tickets were sold...the window closed...lots of disapointed people.

But not too shabby a track record if you ask me.

But "when" to get in line is anyone's guess. Scalpers had homeless people spend the night in line and hold their place for the Texas game. So depending on how many tickets become available (if any), and how many homeless people / others are in line ahead of you...7 a.m., 6 a.m., etc...not sure???, especially if we're undefeated at that point. (pack a pup tent and longjohns)
