SimPLLLLLLLe Jim "6-13" Harbaugh (B1G Suspenders McKhakiPants, Cheater Cheater Booger Eater)

Guarantee an NFL tea would hire him tomorrow and make him one of the 5 highest paid coaches in the league based on his first 3 years in SF. Zero doubt in my mind.

Yep. Never underestimate the desperate stupidity of an NFL owner. I thought he'd bolt if this season ended as it did, but I don't trust him to be that smart. He's retard stubborn and is most likely to come back for more beatings. Fields 2.0 and The Game in Columbus? A smart man would get the fuck out of dodge.

My TSUN buddy is throwing me shade right now about my Huskers not playing in a bowl game.

So I lobbed this one at him:

Scoreboard, eh? Here’s some food for thought….

I know the Huskers are a sub-par team right now, BUT….
EVEN “Mr. Rogers” Mike Riley in his 3 seasons here did something that Harbaugh hasn’t done since he’s been there….
In 2015, he beat the #6 team in the country (overall, as a head coach, he won 7 games against top 10 teams).
He was 1-1 in 3 seasons in bowl games.

Harbaugh is 2-14 against top 10 teams as a head coach, is 1-5 in bowl games, and has never won his division.
That’s not Bo Schembechler type numbers, that’s Bill Callahan type numbers (except Callahan won his division once)

Truth is often stranger than fiction. Can anyone on this forum have imagined or written a script that would have been half as good as what has unraveled the past five years with Jimmah? I mean, he is the gift that just keeps on giving. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought he was going to be the joke he is or continues to be. He just keeps on keeping on. It is awesome.

and while his first 5 years are Cooper comparison worthy...he's got some serious work to do if he wants to hold John F's xx-small, big game losing jock for the next 7 years of his tenure.

1994-2000 John Cooper recruited some of the very best talent ever seen at Ohio State. He even managed to win The Game twice, win the B1G, a Rose Bowl and a Sugar Bowl.

I don't see any Orlando Pace/Eddie George types on that roster or in their recruiting future.

Joe Germaine is about 5x better than any QB he’s had so far

I have a confession: I bought into some of the Harbaugh hype when he was hired. I didn't expect him to dominate us or Urban, but I thought he'd recruit way better than he has, beat us at least occasionally, and go to the playoff at least once. I'm so happy I'm an idiot

If I had to guess where he'd be at year 5, I would have said 1 or 2 wins in The Game, at least one (and maybe two) trips to Indy with 1 B10 championship and either a trip to the playoff or being first team left out. A lot of that would depend on how things played out for sparty or ped though, and he's gotten the necessary fall off in one of those programs, but it hasn't meant shit for his results.

I feared him going up there until the 2013 and 2014 SF seasons. By that point, he established an undeniable track record of questionable decisions, dodgy game/clock management and general shit-gibbonry that it was clear that he wasn't as good as everyone thought he was.

That said, I didn't expect him to be this mediocre.

You weren't the only one....
Say what you will, but I don't care where Jim Harbaugh played, he's an excellent coach with an old school mentality that doesn't exist much any more in either the college or pro game.

Harbaugh has established an excellent record at Stanford and at the 49ers. There is no doubt that he will be a major step up for TSUN.

The guy is a formidable, name-brand coach with an actual track record who should be capable or returning them to Lloyd Carr-era levels. I've always said that it's my job to hate scUM and root against them and it's their job to be a worthy rival to Ohio State in spite of my wishes. For the first time since 2006 or so it looks like they might be taking their role seriously. For that, I give them a hearty salute:

I'm not a fan of the rivalry, I'm a fan of Ohio State. I don't want Harbaugh to do well. I don't want "awesome battles" with Michigan, I want to beat them. I want Dick Rod or cHoke or some other idiot running that team up north. I hope that Harbaugh's stay in Ann Arbor is as short as possible.

Most of my posts have involved "fuck" because I know this is a good hire, a homerun. There's no other way to spin it. He is a superstar going back to his school and a hell of a coach. He is going to recruit and he is going to put a real good team on the field and, unfortunately, he will probably beat Ohio State at some point during his career, which makes my stomach sick because I don't want to feel or even think about a loss in that Game.

BP has done a pretty good job of calling a lot of coaching hire successes and failures. We're generally a smart bunch. This one is a pretty easy one to call from my vantage point. Ohio State's job just got a lot tougher- recruiting, championships, and The Game.

Harbaugh's a terrific coach. No way we are able to sustain a dominance in The Game like we did under Lloyd Carr, Rich Rodriguez or Brady Hoke. No way.

A couple of us (not me) got it right....
Also I'm not seeing where this guy is a great coach.... he had a tremendous last year at Stanford and they improved every year but ... we've seen what Andrew Luck can do for a team, look at Indy this year... Its definitely a big name hire but I don't see him last more than a couple of years if that before he wears out his welcome.

scUM fans are already acting like they've beaten us 10 times in a row with Harbaugh.

We'll see...
