It's because the college football world is quaking in fear of his teams, not that 95% of people instantly hate Harbaugh upon meeting him, I'm sure.

Sounds like a dangerous game to play by relying mostly on transfers. Kids who were disgruntled at other programs, seem to be quick to bail if the grass isn't necessarily greener

Jim Harbaugh has never been afraid of making enemies, this we already know. Harbaugh also happens to be very good at angering coaches or making a scene during postgame handshakes as well.

There was "what's your deal?" with former USC head coach Pete Carroll and then there was the infamous post-game scuffle by former Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz.

Did Harbaugh do it again with another coach? It appears to be that way.

Former UCLA head coach Rick Neuheisel appeared on the Dan Patrick Show on Tuesday to discuss various topics and to premier a new song. A question was asked by Patrick for Neuheisel to discuss any awkward post-game handshake moments, Neuheisel was quick to mention Harbaugh.

"I had (an awkward moment) with Jim Harbaugh, he 'Jim Schwartzed' me," said Neuheisel. "He came across, slapped my hand and said 'what did you think about that, Ricky?' and took off running. You have that moment where you think, 'did that just happen?'"

Coach Harbaugh offended the very, very, very delicate feelings of a collection of muslim students in Ann Arbor when he decided to show American Sniper in a private screening to his football team. He also tweeted this:

With their feelings absolutely crushed, the Muslim student leadership team took action and went over his head to the VP Of Student Affairs.
They asked for a private meeting with Coach and he agreed. One of the students sent out this message:

“In light of the American Sniper screening, several students requested a private meeting with football coach Jim Harbaugh in regards to his insensitive tweet,” stated the email, a copy of which was obtained by The College Fix.
“Vice President Royster has met this request and scheduled a meeting in which Coach Jim Harbaugh will be issuing a private apology,” student Lamees Mekkaoui"


Within hours, but the student and the University administration sent these emails:

“I would like to make a correction in my email,” her second email stated. “I made the mistake of assuming that an apology would be issued. However, Coach Jim Harbaugh was simply invited to a private meeting with us in order to talk about the screening of American Sniper and get a dialogue going about how a university leader’s social media can impact campus climate. I take full responsibility for this assumption and I am very sorry for any confusion I may have caused.”

"“This private dialogue was scheduled several weeks ago,” Fitzgerald added. “The student organizer mischaracterized the purpose of the meeting in her email to other students. Our understanding is that the student has sent a clarifying email. There will be no apology [from Harbaugh].”


The icing on the cake? This wonderful quote:

"Muslim students have almost categorically lost respect for Harbaugh after that tweet,” a Muslim student at the University of Michigan told The College Fix. The student asked to remain anonymous."
