SimPLLLLLLLe Jim "6-13" Harbaugh (B1G Suspenders McKhakiPants, Cheater Cheater Booger Eater)

For the record, I was only commenting H = C with respect to their inability to approach the game as a rivalry. My next statement was about Cooper's superior recruiting.
But I find his inability interesting b/c ... Cooper can't be entirely blamed for never grasping the rivalry as an outsider... but Harbaugh played in it, trash talked in it... and now he doesn't know how to rally his team and get them fired up for it ??
And he's been like that from the beginning... I remember in '15 they talked about how Harbaugh would treat it as just another game. At the time, I thought it was some kind of ruse .... trying to break the spell and losing mindset... but he's really done just that.
It's perplexing... and I thoroughly enjoy it.

Mark the date and time but I am going to say something nice about John F Cooper;

1) He did at least win The Game twice. Asperger Man is 0-fer
2) He never had 62 hung on him.

Cooper > Harbaugh.

Convince me otherwise.
Think about the amount of talent you're bringing in where they give you 13 tries to win The Game and you only get it done twice before finally getting canned.

The last 7 years were due to the otherworldly level of talent he recruited

The first 6 were due to the way they fired Earle (imo)

fucking loser should have been fired after he lost to Air Force

Speaking of fucking losers, a question for the board;

Most over hyped and under performing coach in recent CFB history...

Weiss or Harbaugh?

Harbrau.

The Weis hype took a few games to even gain any footing. Not until after they almost beat USC did it take off. It burnt pretty hot for the rest of 2005 and into the first month or two of 2006, but by the time LSU stamped on his dick in the bowl game, he was already widely seen as a fraud. The hype was totally snuffed out when he fielded a team that looked like they couldn’t tie their own shoes in week 1 of 2007.

Harbrau’s hype started over a decade ago. scUM fan has been touting him as their savior since 2009-ish, if not sooner. Then he goes and has quick success in the nfl and gets to a SB in year two with a unicorn qb and an innovative offense. He never builds on that success, pisses everyone in the building off and falls into scUM’s lap after 2014. They go berserk for him. He was gonna come and topple the evil Ohio State Empire, win championships “the Bo Way” and put them back on the map. He hangs out with d-list rappers, makes a lot of noise, dresses like a dork and EVERYONE is watching. He proceeds to lose almost every “big game” he coaches in, but the hype remains pretty undeterred for 3-plus years. He gets them into a position to make the playoffs this year, then sprays diarrhea all over the field for almost 5 hours on national television. We will see if that finally snuffs out the hype, but I suspect not because sports-writers love a kooky cartoon.

The way they fired Earle pretty much guaranteed that the next coach would have a very long leash barring scandal or off the field issues. I'm not saying that Cooper deserved to stay (he didn't), just that the university had painted itself into a corner where they couldn't quickly whack another coach just for losing games. And remember that when Cooper's time finally came, it was a combination of his ineptitude against Michigan and in bowl games AND him losing control of the program off the field.

TSUN needs to take a page from our book here in Nebraska. Three National championships in the 90s. From 97 - 2001, four divisional titles, two conference championships. An appearance in the National Championship as well. Look at where we are now.

See, we know about gravitation to mediocrity. Years ago, we had an AD who fired a coach who had won almost 80 % of his games here. He decided to try to change the culture here too. Went out, got two former pro football head coaches. Neither coach finished with a winning record here.

Sometimes you go through valleys and chasms. Sometimes you come up, sometimes you don't.

Everybody can't be Ohio State, Jimmah....

As someone who was in Columbus in the late 80s, I can tell you that sometimes Ohio State can't be Ohio State

Definitely Weis. Harbaugh has at least revived a dead program in Stanford and been the HC of a Super Bowl participant. Weis won jack shit at ND. His entire career highlights are being associated with Belichick and losing by 3 points to a team that didn't even win the NC that year.
