Harbaugh to be fired in 3 years

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2701748

Stanford hired former NFL quarterback Jim Harbaugh on Monday to take over its struggling football program.
Harbaugh had spent the last three years as head coach at the University of San Diego, a non-scholarship Division I-AA program. He led the Toreros to a 29-6 record, winning 27 of his final 29 games at San Diego.
The school planned to formally introduce Harbaugh at a news conference Tuesday......

Maybe he'll be smart, manage to get Stanford to 5-6 in a year or two, and quickly get the flock out for a better job like Dennis Green and Ty Willingham did. If not, he's in for the Walt Harris treatment.

Harbaugh's not trying to win friends at USC. It will be interesting to see if he gets a heavy fine for this, since it seems as though he's trying to affect potential USC recruits.

Harbaugh says Carroll leaving USC after season

Wishful thinking? Trojans coach dismisses comments by new Stanford boss

Is this Pete Carroll's last season with USC?

Yes, according to one of his Pac-10 rival coaches.

New Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh told the Los Angeles Times on Thursday he was quoted accurately in a CBS SportsLine story earlier this week saying Carroll would be gone after the upcoming season.

"Perhaps the reason it's been up and down here [Stanford] is that no one has stayed here 20 years," Harbaugh told CBS Sportsline. "... Charlie Weis is going to do that at Notre Dame. [Jim] Tressel at Ohio State. Pete's doing it. He's only got one more year, though. He'll be there one more year. That's what I've heard. I heard it inside the staff."

Harbaugh told the Times that USC receivers coach John Morton, who worked with Harbaugh at the University of San Diego, is not his source.

"I've heard it from multiple people secondhand, from people that have talked to people on the 'SC staff," Harbaugh told the Times.

Jim Harbaugh bashes UM, annoys Carr and Hart.

LLLLoyd and Mike Hart aren't happy about it either.

SI.com - NCAA Football - Michigan's Carr, Hart?lash out on Harbaugh - Thursday August 2, 2007 2:20PM

"Michigan players and coaches are lashing out at Jim Harbaugh over remarks the former Wolverines quarterback and current Stanford coach made about his alma mater in a newspaper interview. Michigan tailback Mike Hart says he has no respect for Harbaugh . . ."

Of course Harbaugh didn't say anything that any UM kinesiology major didn't already know, but I'm wondering why he came out with it . . .

Coach Lloyd Carr called Harbaugh's comments "elitist" and "arrogant."

"Do I think they're elitist? Yeah," Carr told The Detroit News on Wednesday. "Arrogant? Yes. Self-serving? Yes."

Hey, Voyd, just how is Harbaugh telling it like it is "arrogant" and "self-serving"?

Not only is Mike Hart a whiny bastard, he controls the hiring and firing of coaches at Missagain as well...

Hart hinted that Harbaugh has blown his chance of ever coaching the Wolverines.

"He can say what he said and not talk about Michigan. ... There's always a coaching ladder," Hart told the Detroit Free Press. "He coached at San Diego and could have spent a (few) years at Stanford and maybe come to Michigan. But I don't know what he was thinking. It was a dumb move."

You notice not one of them has denied it......

So just toeing the company line and ignoring the facts (according to Harbaugh) will get you the job at Michigan. Talk about arrogant and self serving......
