Should the Big Ten Schedule Change?

Should the Big Ten Schedule Change?

Certainly, the layoff was not the reason for the loss; however, it was likely a reason for the loss. Shortening the layoff may mitigate whatever sluggishness that is a result. Moreover, a schedule change would keep the Big Ten teams from suffering the "out of sight, out of mind" penalty that the conference currently endures... though the "penalty" was appropriate for M*ch*gan.

What do you think?

What would you change?

My only thought is for everyone to give up 1 OOC game and make sure every B10 team plays each other. Is my math right on it only taking 1 extra game?

Other than that, its the same old dead horse of adding a 12th team and a CCG.

We are 3-0 with a 40 day layoff.
it's just an option to the poll. no one has yet to vote for that anyway, so i'm not sure why you're asking "why kind of logic is that?" i guess the question has merit once someone opts for that choice... err, unless the question was merely rhetorical.

poll added.

Im writing in a vote for playoff. I've finally been converted. This was the worst Bowl season I can ever remember and that was how I felt before our debacle.

Layoffs were too long and the best team almost didn't get a chance to even play for the damn title. Boise's still out there undefeated and obviously USC would have been a force regular season cockup's aside.

I love the tradition and importance of CFB's regular season but its been fucked with so much now its not the same anyway. All things must change, its time for a playoff.

I guess I'm wondering what is the logic of changing things just because of 1 bad result, which didn't occur because of the layoff.

Last I checked, the first play of the game was the best play of the game for OSU.

And adding a team is just dumb if that team isn't Notre Dame. And since ND will never be that team because of $$$, it's not a viable option for the Big 10

Do you agree with holding a CFB as late as yesterdays game? Each year the games are going deeper and deeper into January. I'm not saying the layoff is an excuse, we would have been creamed on Jan.1 too, but this is getting ridiculous. Remember when all the big games were played on New Years day? I do.

i agree that changes shouldn't be made because of one bad game, but that doesn't mean that a change isn't what should happen. my main reason for a change (though i've yet to vote; i'm still not certain where i stand) is that the big ten could have two undefeated teams. sure, it's unlikely, but it is possible. another reason for a change is because of a big ten team being dropped for being out of sight and out of mind. sure, michigan's drop ended up being the right thing, but that may not always be the case.
