OSU still waiting on Shelton Gibson
July, 28, 2012

COLUMBUS, Ohio ? Urban Meyer?s first offer for the 2013 class when he became Ohio State?s coach in November went to Cleveland Heights (Ohio) receiver Shelton Gibson. Eight months later, the message from Meyer was still clear while at Friday Night Lights.
?They want to see it printed on my chest: ?O-State,?? Gibson said.
The feeling is mutual. Gibson, No. 196 in the ESPN 300 and No. 11 in Ohio, has the Buckeyes as his leader after calling Auburn and Ohio State even for quite some time.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio -- The Buckeyes are still the team to beat for Shelton Gibson (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Cleveland Heights), but the speedy ESPN 300 receiver is still planning to take the process well into his senior season and possibly past it.
?Ohio State is still my top school,? said Gibson, who has been leaning the Buckeyes? way since early spring. ?The only thing now is I just want focus on high school. I?m still on recruiting and everything but just more focused on my high school career.?
The top receiver in Ohio and No. 196 overall nationally, Gibson has not set any official visits, but he wants to make it to Ohio State on Sept. 15. Gibson has not talked with Urban Meyer since Friday Night Lights, but he called Stan Drayton the morning before his game Friday.

Shelton Gibson (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Cleveland Heights) isn?t hiding his love for Ohio State.
After saying the Buckeyes were his top school at the beginning of the month, the ESPN 300 wide receiver showed he?s serious with his itinerary for the upcoming months.
Gibson didn?t catch Ohio State?s 35-28 win over Cal on Saturday, but was in Columbus shortly afterward and spent time with former teammate Kyle Dodson.
He took in Sunday?s OSU practice and will do the same thing next week when the Buckeyes play UAB.
?I want to check out the practice, see how the pace is and everything,? Gibson said. ?I want to talk to Coach [Urban] Meyer, talk to Coach [Zach] Smith and talk to Coach [Stan] Drayton for a bit and then get back on the road.?
Gibson plans to attend the Ohio State-Nebraska game on an unofficial visit with his official visit tentatively set for the Michigan game on Nov. 24.
