Each Friday and Saturday, when Ella Kirkland dons her maize and blue Michigan clothing, she hears it.
Taunts. Teases. And a chorus of ?How could you??
She shrugs and tries to keep a low profile, knowing this is Buckeye Country.
Maize and blue are enemy colors.
?They give me a hard time, and I just smile,? the Massillon woman said.
She doesn?t protest but she does gives her detractors an explanation. When your son?s a Wolverine, so are you.
Her son is Shawn Crable, a Michigan linebacker and former star at Washington High School.
