That is pretty disgusting, a friend of mine in 8th grade dislocated his knee during one of our basketball games, one of the more disgusting things I have ever witnessed. I will probably never forget his first sickening yell he belted out made the gym go quiet real quick.

wow, that's up there with that fighter who kicks a dude and when he connects, his tibia and fibula snap. Anybody remember about 5 or 6 years ago or so that receiver from UCLA who got his cleats caught in the turf, got tackled, and snapped his femur? Am I thinking of the right school or not?

Wasn't that Freddie Mitchell?

Dislocated kneecaps are gruesome, but, as long as it is just the kneecap, it is not an especially serious injury. A kid on our football team dislocated his kneecap in 05, and only missed a week, which was mostly just precautionary. They actually popped his kneecap back in place right on the field.

Yeah, they immediately were working on getting it back in place on the court when this happened. Unfortunately he also tore his ACL, PCL, MCL and something else. Can't believe something like that is only listed as an 8-12 month injury now. But NFBuck is right, he'll never be the same.

I'm not sure about an UCLA player, but WR Tyrone Prothro of Alabama had a pretty nasty break a year or two ago. He was catching a ball in the endzone, and he landed awkwardly and snapped his leg.

He was also the same guy who had the "play of the year" when he caught the touchdown pass around the back of the defender, and held on.
