SG Musa Jallow (transfer to Charlotte)

Love the look of his game in his highlight videos. Lots of ball-handling skills and smarts, but has the size to do some things underneath, as well. Seems to have no problem getting his teammates involved, either. Regardless of what the rest of our class might be lacking, taking a player like Jallow was always going to be the smart move!

His HS teams have gone 8-15 and 12-10 the last two years, so I would say he's kind of under-the-radar in a sense, like Pete Nance. I'll be interested in seeing how good these guys really are with some talent around them, but it is rare for top-100 kids to have such poor HS teams. Jallow seems like he enjoys passing as much as scoring in his various videos, so maybe he's unselfish to a fault? I'm seeing a poor-man's Jimmy Jackson in his build and mannerisms on the court.

i think jallow would be an ideal small forward in a 5-person class. his defensive ability would complement a shooting guard like watson and a shooting foward like hunter. the other two players in this class would be a pure point guard and a 4/5, with the post player possibly being a grad transfer if the class goes 4-deep instead. if it's a 4-person class, then i guess that's a discussion for another thread.

couple things:

jallow is a 4.0 student.

though jallow did not increase his three-point percentage his junior season (34% as a sophomore; 32% as a junior after more than tripling his attempts), he did increase his free throw percentage to 76% from 69%.

If he picks OSU and is 2017, he sort of becomes a replacement for Funderburk. So long as there is still room for Jerome Hunter - and of course there should be - it's all good in my book if he wants in at OSU.

he is a very different player from Funderburk. he's athletic and not a great shooter. that's about where the similarities end.

Zach Fleer just put in a CB to IU.

Dear God, please just let us have this one.

In what universe was Funderburk a wing?????
He was not planning on playing the 5, was he? At least that was not the goal. He was there to play wing forward, combo forward, whatever you want to call it. Jallow isn't a pure SG in my view, I see him as more of a 3. He may be a better fit if Chris is looking to go smaller and quicker with his perimeter players compared to DF. I will say DF is more of a 4 whereas Jallow is a 3, but i see those positions as somewhat interchangeable, hence my hypothesis.
