No. Burson was 5'10 on stilts. diebler is a legit 6 6. I have a hard time making comparisons when guys are 9 or 10 inches in height difference.

I would compare Diebler to Dunleavy Jr., not saying he is as good as Dunleavy but they have similar bodies and playing styles.
On the sidelines
One of the staples of the fall is college football games. One of the staples of the fall recruiting season is getting recruits on campus for big football weekends. Ohio State had its four commitments from the 2006 class, including Lawrence North's Oden and point guard Mike Conley, on campus for the Sept. 10 game against Texas.
The most intriguing sight among the basketball recruits at the game, though, was Jon Diebler. A 6-6 guard-forward combination from Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Diebler attended the OSU-Texas game instead of Michigan-Notre Dame. He originally made a verbal commitment to Valparaiso after his sophomore year, but he has been quoted recently as saying he's looking forward to playing with Ohio State's 2006 class. He's also being recruited by Michigan.
I'm certainly excited about Diebler, but let's get real about the analogies. Dunleavy was 6-10 with handles and a sweet J, along with being a leaper and canny shot-blocker. Not many true Dunleavy-like talents, and if JD were he would be a top-20 rank.

When point guard Jake Diebler of Upper Sandusky High School made a recruiting visit to Valparaiso in January, younger brother Jon tagged along. When Jake committed to sign with Valpo, so did Jon.
But Jon apparently had second thoughts after he was one of the stars of the state boys basketball tournament in March, and that might result in him changing plans and attending Ohio State.
The 6-foot-6 sophomore guard scored 61 points in two games and made seven three-point baskets in one in leading Upper Sandusky to the Division II title.
Valparaiso coach Homer Drew gave Jon permission to visit other schools this summer. Jon attended the Ohio State-Texas football game Sept. 10 with a number of other basketball recruits, including 2006 commitments Greg Oden, Daequan Cook, Mike Conley Jr. and David Lighty. This morning, he is expected to announce he will join them in 2007, though he cannot sign a binding letter of intent for another 14 months.
"He did not want to have any regrets," Keith Diebler, Jon’s father and high-school coach, said yesterday without revealing his son’s decision. "Once this is (announced), this is it, it’s over and done with. He wants to move on."
Keith Diebler said Jon also visited Michigan and North Carolina State after receiving Drew’s blessing. Jon spent part of this past weekend with his brother at Valparaiso, where Jake is a freshman, before returning home to discuss his decision with his parents.
Jon Diebler could not be reached for comment yesterday.
He is rated the ninth-best shooting guard nationally in the class of 2007 by the Scout-.com recruiting Web site. He averaged 26 points per game last season.
Diebler is one of at least three Ohioans in the class of 2007 known to be a high priority of Ohio State coaches. The other two, 7-foot Kosta Koufos of Canton GlenOak and 6-8 Dallas Lauderdale of Solon, also were at the Texas game but are not believed to be close to making a commitment.
Ohio State also has a commitment already from a 2008 recruit, 6-10 B.J. Mullens of Harvest Prep. [email protected]
