SF/PF Keita Bates-Diop (Official Thread)

So he's graduating tomorrow. Really interested to see what he does next season. Weren't people saying he was leaning towards going pro? He could also be a graduate transfer on pretty much any team in the country. Or if this year doesn't go so well he could give it one more run with the Buckeyes.

This year is going pretty well for Keita. At least to this point it has been very good. Knowing he is graduating, I expect him to turn pro. 4 years in college and a degree, showing out on the court this year, Tate the only guy he came in with who is still there also graduating. I just don't see much justification for him staying.

I don't know if Keita is like... just now starting to trust his body again or what but it seems like he is morphing into an NBA prospect in front of our very own eyes, some of the things he is doing on the court coupled with his wingspan are definihtely going to have some nba scouts salivating at his potential, and then you throw in the fact that with his injuries he's only played about 2 years of college basketball.... man, my hopes of him coming back for another season seem to be dwindling with every game played, absolutely love the growth I am seeing

Clearly Keita is a future pro. The question is, is he a 1st round pick? That's likely the question he needs to ask himself when deciding whether to return, along with whether returning could raise his stock.

As well as he's playing right now, I don't know whether he's figured to go in the 1st.

I think if he remembers that he missed an entire year because of an injury he will remember that and turn pro after this season assuming that he continues to progress in his play and does not get injured. I do not think that it will matter if he will not go in the first or second round. He will always remember that he missed a season due to an injury.

It will be interesting to see if he continues to play at this very high level when he gets into conference play. I just do not remember him being this good of a shooter before his injury. He must have worked quite a bit on his shooting while he was recovering. I know that he was highly rated coming out of high school but still he has been a very pleasant surprise so far this season.

It will be interesting to see if he shows up against a good team this Saturday. KBD has looked really good of late. I want to see him be agressive and play like that against good comp and in conference play. He needs to be a consistent scorer every night and somebody different can step and be that secondary scorer (Tate, Kam, Wesson, C.J., ect....) each game out.

Let's see if he doesn't disappear against UNC. Then we can start talking about end of the season accolades and being a viable pro prospect.
are we finally allowed to talk about kbd, his end-of-season accolades, and his pro prospects after the 26-point performance versus unc? or is the standard now his performance against msu?

At this point in the season I don't think anyone is projecting him to be drafted in 2018. It will be interesting to see if he comes back next year or tries for the NBA.
