SF Jae'Sean Tate (2018 2nd team All B1G, Houston Rockets)

Q. How has your experience been so far at the LeBron James Skills Academy?

Jae?Sean: It?s been great just to be around guys with the same dream and have the same goals as me.

Q. What was it like to see LeBron and compete with the nation?s top talent?

Jae?Sean: It was definitely cool to see LeBron. For one, he?s the best player in the world and from Ohio, and I really look up to him. Just to be able to ask him questions and get his point of view was cool.

Q. Have you talked to D?Angelo Russell at all this week? Are there any prospects that you guys are trying to sway to OSU?

Jae?Sean: I talk to D all the time, that?s my guy. We hit eachother?s phone all the time. As far as prospects go, it would definitely be Myles Turner.

Future Ohio State Buckeye Jae?Sean Tate of Pickerington Central (OH) is one tough player who simply finds ways to get the job done. A 6-foot-5 small forward in the class of 2015, Tate is a productive player who does a nice job of scoring at the rim. Playing for Team USA Midwest, Tate also displayed that he has some ability to step out behind the arc and knock down 3-pointers. If he can do that consistently, watch out.

The development of his outside game has been impressive. If he continues to improve, he could become a real threat offensively. We already know what he can do on the defensive end and on the glass.

Watching some of Jae'Sean's highlights, seeing the way he plays with the talent he has and the junkyard dog, scrappy mentality he brings to the floor, it seems like all signs point to him being a very, very good college player. His size and strength are already assets, and he's only going to get bigger and stronger.

Putting him at the 2 or 3, he's obviously going to rebound well for his position and he's going to play solid defense. But his overall game and ability to finish at the rim alone are things that will translate well to B1G play. Can't wait to see him put on the Scarlet and Gray.

You're right Bulls-Eye. Tate is the type of all-around player that is going to do a little bit of everything, and that is going to help him earn minutes. Probably a small reserve role as a freshman (a la Lighty), but a regular role as opposed to a vanishing role like the one DT had as a freshman. The guys who tend to play regular roles as freshmen under Matta contribute in a variety of ways like Tate.
