The KSB

4-4-11/11-5-11
This is a bet that is about a year and a half old. I made a bet with a scUMmer over the game. scUM wins he get to take a picture of me in his scUM gear. The good guys win I get a picture of him in my Buckeye gear. Obviously I win the bet and get my picture. It turns out he made the same bet with a Buckeye buddy of mine. Which he has not honored. He says my picture settles both bets. I say bullshit. To emphasise my displeasure I've put my picture on his facebook wall while he was in the field so his friends all got to look at it for two weeks before he could take it down. I also had the picture published in the company newsletter that gets sent to all family members so his family could see it. Not to mention printing around 100 copies and posting them across the entirety of his work area. He says I'm overeacting, I say he's lucky I haven't set him on fire yet. Who do you think is right?

You, of course.

The only out he would have is if he specifically bet the other guy that he'd take a picture in your Buckeye gear, which seems unlikely. However, rubbing his nose in it is still entirely appropriate.

Yours,

Miss Manners

Hail, hail to Michigan, the cess pool of the West!

Guessing on rank here, but honor among Lieutenants is like virtue among whores.

I'm curious as to how you want him to settle up?

To satisfy your debt, he bought a buckeye outfit got dressed up and then took a picture and sent it to you. Are you suggesting he buy an entirely new outfit and take another picture to satisfy your friends debt?

Or perhaps where the same outfit at another location? What have you asked him to do that he's refused?

He has to wear whatever Buckeye gear the other guy wants him to wear due to the second bet...what???

So he made good on your bet, but didn't make good on some other bet? What are you, a goon for the other guy who won?

Now, I agree that two bets means two payouts. If he bet you each a dollar, he doesn't get to give up a single dollar and claim he's good on both bets. He made two bets regarding wearing gear, and he has to wear gear twice. If he doesn't he's a welcher and I would make a bigger deal of that than anything else. I'd also never bet with him again and tell him specifically why.

... and then I'd set him ablaze.

I think you need to figure out what "double or nothing" means in this particular situation.

Just to be clear. In his side bet there is a rank issue so my buddy can't agressively handle this issue. Also, Buckeye gear was provided so he incures no expense. To be honest, I would have sent the picture to his family and friends anyhow.

I take it the asshole is also the BN CO or XO, in which case you need to either mark it down as a lesson learned or find a subtle way to inform the Brigade CO. Even then you run the risk of having this show up on your OER, not his. Not worth it.
