Seeking revenge on a co-worker.

I really don't have a problem with what she did. I handle payroll for a 40-50 employee construction company and if I thought one of the guys, particularly a new employee, was padding his hours, you can bet I would talk to the VP about it. She probably should have spoken with you about it before contacting your boss, but IMO, she still didn't do anything to warrant a revenge scheme.

Just my opinion.

Normally i MAY agree, but when you're talking about what sounds like a 5 hour a week job, who really gives a flying F?

Although I would tend to agree with you, she should have clarified the statement with BW before sneaking to the boss.

Things probably would have turned out better had she done that.

I say take her out and get her insanely drunk and take questionable picks of her for the romper room.

Hell, he should be doing that anyways.

I'm not sure how you came to find the email from her to your boss. However, a university vice-chancellor (i.e., president) was fired in South Africa for accessing her secretary's PC after working hours nad reading the private emails she sent to others of a "office politics" nature.

My advice to you is to be glad that you understand the lay of the land and to act accordingly. Methomps is right, nothing good comes from discussing pay with co-workers. You don't want a blot on your resume from doing something silly to retaliate either.

An important lesson in life is to keep your friends near and your enemies nearer. Be nice, polite, and constructive in your working relations with this person and your boss. Be effective in your job. Don't ever discuss your personal life with either of them.

Bide your time. Someone who is so petty that they write such an email will eventually drop her own rear into the fire. She won't need your help.

Now, if while you are working, you want to visualize quietly some of the other advice you've been given...
