I started a new campus job about 2 months ago. It is the biggest joke of a job that exists (In fact, I'm working right now). Anyways, I wasn't given a time-card for my first two weeks of work, so I had to double up the hours on my second time card.
Well I showed this girl who is a co-worker my first check, joking around about how they just think I'm amazing so they paid me double. I never mentioned the real reason being that I didn't have a time card the previous week.
Just now I found the 'log' of emails sent to the boss. I find this email
"I don't want to come off as a 'tattle tale' but I feel compelled to tell you that the new worker Greg bragged to me about the amount of his last check. I think he is writing down the incorrect hours and unfairly receiving extra money; figured that you should look into it."
First of all, we are talking about $45; and from a university, not some mom and pop shop that is hurting for money. Second, thankfully I didn't lie on my hours and the story checked, so the boss obviously never even came to me about this information; i simply stumbled upon it. So Finally, Why the hell would you send that email in the first place.
I can't claim that I found the emails obviusly, also the boss is some less then intelligent lady, so maybe i'm wrong in my assumpton that she understands why the check was so higher;but without claiming that I found the emails I can't really set my name clear.
If you were me what form of revenge would you take upon the girl?
Bonus Question: How many of you would have done what she did?
