If I wanted deep fried turkey, I'd take the "easy way out" and go to Arby's:

It may not be as good as doing it yourself; but you won't have the cleanup nor will you set your house on fire.

Make sure the bird is fully thawed and innards removed. I usually do an injection when deep frying.

I’ve always wanted to deep fry a turkey as well. Still not confident I wouldn’t end up on a YouTube video if I tried.

We are hosting this year and I joked we should just pull out a bunch of Culver chicken tenders from the oven and watch peoples reaction lol
