SEC (It just means more.. even its losses are wins)

From 11W:

THE SEC'S NO GOOD, VERY BAD BOWL SEASON

Bowl season has not been kind to the SEC. (Then again, neither was the regular season.) Let's recap:
  • Alabama 34, Oklahoma 24 (1-1)
  • Ole Miss 41, Tulane 10 (2-1)
  • Miami (Fla.) 10, Texas A&M 3 (2-2)
  • Virginia 13, Missouri 7 (2-3)
  • Houston 38, LSU 35 (2-4)
  • Illinois 30, Tennessee 28 (2-5)
  • Texas 41, Michigan 27 (3-5)
  • Iowa 34, Vanderbilt 27 (3-6)
  • Indiana 38, Alabama 3 (3-7)
  • Ole Miss 39, Georgia 34 (4-8)
Yikes.

Just sayin': Ole Miss still has a chance to win 2 more games; however, that would still give the SEC a losing bowl record.

What a strange coincidence that just when paying players becomes legal and the greatest coach in the history of the game retires ... all of a sudden the SEC is mid.

The paying players is obviously big but the transfer portal might have been an even bigger blow. The SEC practice of over signing, stock piling talent and keeping the guys they wanted as long as they wanted was a big part of their success. This practice is completely negated by the free moving transfer portal that allows players to move on to places where they can play right away without penalty, rather than being part of that cycle their whole career at an SEC school.

Mississippi State (favored as a 5-7 team of course) is not off to a great start.

and before they start-Wake Forest has their best player (rb) opted out, a starting OT and their best WR.

MSU had their QB who was already benched before the Egg Bowl opt out.

SEC hacks have been saying all year that their 5-7/4-8 teams are better than Wake Forest type teams who are a soft 8-4 in another conference. Go figure once that gets proven false it's suddenly now a "huge mismatch"

Good point. Hadn't thought of that angle.

I'm so tired of trying to rationalize with these inbreds on social media. They tried to say everyone looks good when facing Rutgers, Purdue and Northwestern every season. To which I pointed out that they have Kentucky, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt taking up space at the bottom of their conference most of the time. The response was that Kentucky, Miss. St. and Vandy have more "blue chips" than Rutgers, Purdue and Northwestern. I don't even know what that means, but I hope he's not trying to say they're blue bloods, nor anything other than easy wins most seasons....

Holy shit with this guy. His latest argument:
"you realize in the sec, someone has to lose right? Kentucky could have 30% blue chip ratio. They’re still going to have to play Oklahoma, bama, tn, South Carolina, lsu, Texas, and vandy this year". I didn't even have to use any brain cells to counter that point.

What was the blue chippers ratio in the Indiana-Bama game?

Love how we will get to hear for weeks about how overrated Ohio State was but you won't hear a peep of the same about Georgia who just got beat in their own backyard by a team that had a coach who was coaching his 2nd ever game as a head coach.

your point is loud and clear.
but that game was in New Orleans, so not really UGA's backyard.

I saw someone mention that Tulane was once an SEC team.
a really long damn time ago, yes.
