Gonna go out on a limb here with no facts or research to say that the SEC footprint is probably the poorest in the nation. Chasing dollars there isn't a smart, long-term strategy.

The SEC is the contract ESPN has so that kind of narrows down the list of which conference they should promote the most. As far as the amount of money at play in the CSA, it may be lower relative to other parts of the country but it's still a lot of money in absolute terms.

I'm not knowledgeable on the economics/business of sports media deals but it I don't believe it's directly tied to household income. Not 100% sure though.
