I mean I don't want to point this out but...

Didn't Tennessee split their title with Michigan?
TTUN’s split title was in 1997, and Nebraska got the other half after they beat Tennessee in the final college game for Peyton Manning and Tom Osborne. Nebraska got a win over Mizzou in OT that year when a kicked ball, by a Husker on his back on 4th down, was caught in the end zone by a diving frosh WR near the end of the game.

TenneCheat won in 1998, a year where they won early at Syracuse on a last-second FG after a drive was kept alive by a late PI call; they beat Arkansas because QB Clint Stoerner couldn’t hold onto the ball to run out the clock and fumbled without being hit, and they got to play Florida State who used a 3rd-string QB in the first BCS 1-vs-2 matchup.

But I’m not bitter about any of that 25 years later.

Michigan split theirs with Nebraska the year before the BCS started.

LSU & USC was the only split since the BCS began.
