Seattle Seahawks (official thread)

It's good Seattle Times is keeping the heat on.
I've defended Sherman and minimized PED abuse here before (the Broncos had 1 less violation in 2013), but this is way beyond the pale.
This draft has demonstrated just how crass the NFL is. La'el Collins doesn't get drafted b/c all these GMs are pussies and scared about media fallout... meanwhile Jameis is the #1 overall pick and this scumbag in the 2nd round.

Well, the PED-hawks didn't need a tackle, otherwise, you can bet Petey woulda snatched Collins up.

I just find it really strange that we knew early on he wasn't the murderer... but goes undrafted just cuz teams don't want the attention.
But people that have massive red flags and guilty of at least some things (TPD covered for Winston; Clark was plead down - victim didn't want to testify?) were drafted high - reaches even - b/c they thought the media fallout was over months ago.

I have a hard time believing any team wouldn't have taken Collins in the 6th or 7th even if they didn't need a T. Saving huge amounts of money on cap space doesn't get much easier than a starter drafted late...

With history mostly on his side, Seahawks’ Pete Carroll takes a chance on Josh Gordon

The following two things are indisputable.

The first: Josh Gordon really likes weed. He might like it more than anyone else in football.

The receiver has failed drug test after drug test, and has missed season after season, all because he has struggled to abide by the NFL’s substance-abuse policy.

The second: Pete Carroll isn’t afraid of players’ pasts. He may fear them less than anyone else in football.

The Seahawks coach has welcomed an array of personnel with checkered histories, and has repeatedly gotten top-level production from them.

On Friday, the Seahawks claimed Gordon off waivers after 27 other teams passed on him. They took a chance on a former Pro Bowler because they felt he would enhance their roster.
