Julius Peppers was a minor role player at UNC....He got some minutes, but his contribution was severely impacted by the time he missed while in the football season.

Same with Matt Jones, Adrien McPherson, Ronald Curry, and a whole host of others.

while playing basketball sounds good right now, it isn't going to happen. Since Charlie Ward, who was a Heisman QB, and NBA PG, no cross-sport player has made much a differnce.

Different sports, but do not forget Kenny Lofton was a point guard for Arizona (and I believe made a Final Four appearance, not positive though) and Kenny had a fairly good MLB career. Kenny actually did make quite a difference for the Tribe.

the overall point is it doesn't work out in ALMOST all cases. Although Cam Heyward and TP have both made significant contributions to the Oho State squad.

Most duel sport athletes get to college, determine where there best chance at success lies, and take on asingular focus to max out their potential in that sport.

It's speculation on my part, but I am willin to bet, he plays football, and football only in college. His future as a millionaire at LT is far greater than a 6'8 center/PF.

Henderson in AA yesterday...

A number of potential recruits attended Saturday?s practice on unofficial visits to campus. The most noticeable was St. Paul, Minn. offensive tackle Seantrel Henderson. Henderson is the top-ranked prospect in the class of 2010 according to rivals.com.

Seantrel is not built for the spread offense. Linemen need to be smaller and extremely mobile, with a high endurance level. There is absolutely no chance a six foot eight tackle will sign up for running around in the spread.

Ryan Clady was 6-6, 325 pounds and he played in a spread at Boise State and had an excellent rookie season in the NFL for the Denver Broncos this past season. If Henderson is anything like those two guys, he'll be able to play in any offense.

Like I said, it has more to do with his athletic ability as an individual than his height, and I'm guessing that his athletic ability is through the roof, because there are a lot of 6'6+ OT's in every recruiting class, but it is very rare that any of them are rated as the #1 player in the country regardless of class by just about every recruiting publication out there.

He's athletic enough to be considering playing basketball at major D-I programs.

The Michigan football staff is utilizing its 15 spring practices not only to prepare their squad for the 2009 football season, but also as a showcase for top prep talent. This past Saturday, more than a half dozen prospects, including the nation?s top-ranked football recruit, were in attendance to watch the Wolverines? fourth spring practice of the year.

St. Paul (Minn.) Cretin-Derham Hall offensive tackle Seantrel Henderson made the trek to the state of Michigan with two friends and stayed in Ann Arbor Friday and Saturday. The 6-8, 301-pound Henderson was recently tabbed as the top prospect in the 2010 class by Rivals.com and he has a list of scholarship offers that includes the nation?s top football programs.

Henderson and his group arrived at Michigan on Friday when he was able to meet with coaches, strength and conditioning personnel and academic advisors. Saturday, Michigan opened its spring practice at 10 a.m. and Henderson stuck around to take in the day?s activities.

?Michigan was great,? Henderson remarked. ?I loved it more than any other college I?ve been to so far.?

maybe his criteria for the best is based on his ability to start immediately at the school due to their lack of talent and inept performance during practices
