Seahawks at Browns(-1.5)

The Browns just won a game in overtime after losing the coin toss - with THAT defense. Just shut up and smile and move on to next week. If they hear you complaining, they might try to take it away.

Good call. Who didn't think the game was over when Elizabeth Hasselback's brother in law appeared to dive over the yellow line?

We should take it like we stole it and move on to worrying about how we are going to solve the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The funny thing about that is, when I saw that play live I was yelling at my TV saying they spotted him an extra yard. For some reason, this year the Browns are not coming out on the wrong end of some game-deciding BS like that.

Like San Diego's season last year, you learn, it's not all dominating your opponent, a lot of it is getting the calls and lucky breaks. Right now, the Browns are getting a lot of the calls and breaks, this is the way it has to happen for most teams when they make the playoffs. I am not a browns fan but I am from Ohio, I follow my local pro-sports team, but I root for my Ohio brothers secondary, so my point is I am not saying "they are lucky" but rather a certain amount of luck is needed, they are getting it, let's hope it continues onto the playoffs.

I heard about those beer bottles being thrown,

but what exactly happened that day that made the Browns fans so angry?

Officials reviewed a catch by the browns, even though the browns had already run another play after that. Rules state that once the ball is snapped, the previous play cannot be reviewed.

Call was reversed, browns end up losing the game.

First of all the Browns won so nobody should be complaining. As far as the defense yeah it sucks but I don't think Grantham is the problem. Hell there is a reason he is looked upon by people around the league as a really good up and coming coach. We just need to get some talented young D-lineman to replace the old guys we have now. We can't blitz much at all because we need the linebackers and DB's to make the tackles. Browns D is kinda like Michigan States D only smarter. Both teams know they suck on defense but MSU blitzes on every play because they know the secondary will get beat on every play deep. Perfect example of this is how MSU lost to Michigan. The Browns choose not to blitz and drop into coverage that way they don't get beat deep and it kills more clock. Besides once they get down into the redzone there isn't as much room to throw so the defense actually gets better. They need to improve the Defense in the offseason but it may take a while because it's not like good nosetackles come around a lot. Plus that was a hell of a defensive stop on 4th and a half yard in overtime. Let's look at some of the positives too.

Who cares we won. GO BROWNIES!!!!! 5-3.

ESPN - Players: 'We feared for our lives' - NFL Football Recap

I can't find video of the play, but basically, Quincy Morgan made a catch to convert on a 4th down play with under a minute left with the Browns driving for the would-be go-ahead TD. Tim Couch spiked the ball on the next play, and then the officials proceeded to initiate an ILLEGAL booth review of Morgan's catch after another play had already been run - because there was a supposed breakdown in communication between the booth and the officials on the field.. The catch was overturned which resulted in a turnover on downs, the Browns losing the game, and the onslaught of beer bottles and other debris.

I remember watching that game. Overturning the catch was bullshit in it's own right, and it was just another instance of the Browns losing the game on some bullshit that you can't even imagine. I believe that was the same season as the Dwayne Rudd incident and the game where the Browns lost to the Steelers because the Browns blocked a FG too well. The timeout-blocked FG thing earlier this year sucked, but it was nothing compared to this episode. That timeout was shitty, but at least it was legal. How many teams have lost a game because the officials circumvented the rules to dick them over? You can bet they wouldn't have done the same thing to the Cowboys, Patriots, or a New York team in that instance.

I just happen to be reading this thread as I hear Chris Berman in the other room spew out about 13 "whoooooop" in 15 seconds. Can somebody please shoot him? How can you not know how stupid you sound?:smash:

If ESPN paid me as much as they do him, I'd gladly get up there and sound like a total jackass too.
