Will Hagerup from Whitefish Bay, Wis., is the top punter in the Midwest. The 6-foot-4 and 215-pound Hagerup does his teams punting and kicking, but is considered a punter first and foremost.
Hagerup averaged 40.1 yards per punt during his junior season. He also made all four of his field goal attempts with his long coming from 44 yards.
Hagerup had 12 scholarship offers before recently making a Midwest. The trip netted him offer No. 13.
"Ohio State was the lucky No. 13," Hagerup said. "My dad and I planned out a Midwest trip. We visited Michigan last Wednesday and Ohio State on Thurday. Michigan had already offered.
"At Ohio State I worked out. After I punted one of the coaches gave me a full tour. Afterwards I met with Coach (Jim) Tressel for about an hour. He said they were offering a full scholarship."
Hagerup has offers from Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Purdue, Indiana, Northwestern, Illinois, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas and Iowa State.
Hagerup says he does not have a leader, but hopes to come up with one and select a college before the end of the summer.
The Buckeyes have also offered Chillicothe, Ohio, punter and kicker Drew Basil.
