Defintely overrated the WRs. A 10?

I'd agree with a 10 on the LBs, but a perfect 10 on WRs?

Don't see it.

Also disagree with the poster who said tOSU has more talent than Michigan.

Michigan has had a top 10 recruiting class every year since 2001-present.

Just because you have a top ten recruiting class does not mean you have more talent. Take for instance our recruiting in Justin Zwick - he was supposed to be this wonderfull Qb who won all kinds of praise, respect and honors. We saw how well that one panned out - after 6 games we started Smith (one of our last and not so well touted recruits) who proved to be much better. We can also look at recruits like Louis Izarry or Ira Guildford and how that panned. Your recruit numbers dont mean jack if the kids dont grow into their roles properly.

Before I get ripped to shreds by y'all...

I would've rated OSU's WRs at a 9.2

Good point...but its not just that.

I mean look from top to bottom. The only place where I'd say tOSU defintely has more talent is LB'er and Secondary. JMO though.

WR's/TE's are about as even as it gets.

Even at WR? You are joking right?

In that case, tOSU's backfield is just as talented as scUM's since we are basing this on potential rather than actual production. :roll2:

I'd say...

QB--push

RB--scUM ( only because Hart is established...but AP or Haw could breakout just the same and Johnson is a wrecking ball)

OL--scUM (based on precedence...but I have a feeling tOSU's OL will be excellent)

TE--push

WR--tOSU

DL--push (both should be strong)

LB--tOSU

DB--tOSU

Special Teams-- Remains to be seen but if I had to bet, tOSU just from precedence.

Coaching-- 3-1 good guys...JT all day long

LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Hold on a minute.......

LMFAO.

more like this....

QB = Michigan (in a landslide)
RB= Michigan (in a landslide)
TE= Michigan (in a landslide)
WR= push
OL= Michigan (in a landslide)
DL= Michigan (in a landslide)
LB= tOSU (in a landslide)
DB= tOSU (in a landslide)

You can't even TELL me your freaking QBs are even close to Michigan's. Neither are your TEs. As for DL, Michigan is also deeper and more talented there with Woodley and Watson.

Your credibility is hereby gone. Landslide? Please.

TE's are not even close? That kind of contradicts your comments above regarding TE's

Woodley and Watson? Pittcock, Patterson, Kudla, Richardson...all experienced, all ready to roll. Add in Abdallah, Barrow, and Cotton as potential stars...

I was saying WRs/TEs COMBINED.

TEs on there own...not even close.

What is this AOL Messenger?
Watson was projected as a 2nd round pick if he came out this year. Is a late 1st rounder at worst in the '06 Draft. Defintely the most talented defensive lineman on either team. Woodley is the 2nd most talented defensive lineman on either team. Not only that Michigan just signed 4 Rivals100s DLs in the 2005 class alone. Not to mention they also have Will Paul (5* player), Tim Jamison (2nd in MVP voting behind Ginn in Army Game), Will Johnson, JVA, Pat Massey, Pierre Woods, and Shawn Crable.

Want to compare Woodley's sophmore stats to Will Smith's JR. stats?

Woodley (11 games)- 70 tackles, 16 TFLs, 4 sacks, 3 FF's, 1 FR, 4 PBU's

Smith (14 games)- 59 tackles, 12.5 TFLs, 5.5 sacks, 1 FF, 1 FF, 1 INT

Woodley is almost a Smith clone in terms of size (6-2, 268 vs. Smith's 6-3, 267)

Isn't this what you just said? DEEPER and more talented...talented is still to be seen as tOSU's DL will only one starting Sr in Mike Kudla (an athletic freak of nature). However, you named two established players and a number of potential players based on recruits...where is the depth? tOSU is returning 3 out of 4 starters with a number of DLman that played in the rotation.

TE is not even close? Based on what the tOSU TE is called upon to do, I would say it is very close. You are comparing apples to oranges if you look at the stats. TE just has not been a vital offensive weapon in the JT era...however, Hamby has been a solid blocker and Roy Hall in the Flex will be a nightmare. Using your potential approach...Rory Nicol is as good of a TE recruit last year as anyone in the country.

Your assertion that the scUM WR's are a push is absolutely asinine. Ginn and Holmes alone are the best combo in the nation...throw in Gonzo, Lyons, Jordan, Hall, and Childress and it is as you say a "landslide."

There is nothing wrong with supporting your team, but at least stay realistic...all of that landslide talent sure did get their asses handed to them in November.....

Interesting stuff: my responses to the tsun fan...

QB = Michigan (in a landslide)....then why did troy smith hand his arse to him when they met head-to-head....
RB= Michigan (in a landslide)...Hart really performed well in the shoe....
TE= Michigan (in a landslide)....i'd give you an even here...
WR= push ...last time i looked the best receiver you had (edwards) was still trying to get the smell of yobouty off him three days and seven showers later....
OL= Michigan (in a landslide)...no way...depth and man-to-man i think this ohio state oline is going to be awesome.....michigan is always good to though...
DL= Michigan (in a landslide)...watson is clearly the best d-lineman on either team, but again I go with depth at tosu
LB= tOSU (in a landslide)....got one right...
DB= tOSU (in a landslide)...got two right...

and oh yeah....let me add one...
Head Coach....tOSU in an avalanche....

Uh, fuckhead, which QB led his team to a one-sided win in The Game last season? The only time Henne was effective was when we played the corners back in a zone...when we tightened up the coverage to man-to-man, Henne did shit. As for RB, you have Hart, who didn't do shit in The Game either. Here's how I see the comparison:

QB = Michigan (edge). Henne is polished for his age, but Smith brings another dimension and Zwick has improved.
RB = Michigan (edge). Hart is a very good runner, but after that who do you have?
TE = OSU (edge). You don't have Massaquoi anymore
WR = OSU (edge). You lost Edwards. Holmes is better than Avant and Ginn better than Breaston.
OL = Push. You lost Bass, and our OL has greatly improved.
DL = Push. I was going to give us a slight edge, but in the interest of objectivity...
LB = OSU. With Woodley moved to DL, UM's LBs don't even belong on the same planet as OSU's.
DB = OSU. With Jackson and Shazor gone, UM is really hurting. We lost Fox at one corner, but other than that...

Ok, Troy Smith had one good game. Henne is defintely better. So you are going to base Smth being better on one game? Yeah, lets just disregard everything Henne accomplished as the starter for an entire season as a true freshman and raise Smith up for having one good game. BRILLIANT! Not only is Henne better than Smith, but if Troy goes down OSU is SOL b/c Zwick sucks. Michigan has Gutz and Richard to back Henne up. In terms of RB, give me a break. You guys can't even compete here. Max Martin, Mike Hart, and Kevin Grady. Enough said. As for TEs please. Massaqoui is a 2 time All-B10er and Ecker is a 1 time All-B10er. Neither of your top 2 TEs are. Oh and your top 3 TEs stats COMBINED last season was 19 catches, 212 yards, and 2 tds. Nice try though. Our O-line was light years ahead of yours last season- and will be again next season. Jake Long is by far the best guy on either team along the o-line and Michigan just has more depth there also. DL, Michigan has TONS of depth there and 3 PROVEN players returning to start along the front 4 with Massey, Watson, and Woodley. Woodley and Watson are better than either guy on tOSU's D-line.

Why are you acting like saying WRs are about a push is such a stretch? Michigan is ALOT deeper in that department than tOSU and Holmes isn't exactly a world beater. 55 catches, 700 yards and 7 tds. Oh my god! Alert the press because he is unreal! Ginn's freshman season he had pretty much the same exact stats as Breaston. Breaston was injured all last year and was really only healthy the final 3 games of the year. What if Ginn gets injured like Breaston did? Ginn isn't even that PROVEN as a WR- he gets all of his hype from returning punts.

As for the coaching, I agree with you...I am not the biggest Carr fan.

This obviously is not going to go anywhere...

So instead of laying out the same arguments over and over...

I'll just leave it at 37-21 and 3 out of 4.

Your inability to see anything beyond your personal views is not worth a conversation.

your mere suggestion that tsun is as deep in the WR core shows your ignorance...holmes, ginn, gonzales, hall, lyons and dukes could all be either your one or two....

the 05 version of michigan is going to be exactly like the last few...you'll come into the game either 9-1 or 8-2, with one big ten loss...and fall to 1-4 against tressel....

Uh, then why is Holmes on so many pre-season first-team all-american lists? As for Ginn, he started somewhat slow at WR because he was a corner in HS. Once the light went on, he was the single-most dangerous WR in the country, with the possible exception of Chad Owens in Hawaii. Ginn had five catches in The Game, including a 42-yarder and a 26-yarder, not to mention his 82-yard punt TD.

See my above post. Holmes is better than Avant...period. Ginn is better than Breaston...period.

LMAO. I think that would be YOUR inability to see anything beyond your personal views.

Watson is being regarded as one of the top returning DTs in all of CFB. Woodley was named the #1 sophmore defensive player in the country in his draft class by Mel Kiper last season. Mike Hart rushed for more yards and a higher YPC in less games than your precious SlowMoC did, but yeah SlowMo was the greatest RB ever for that year and yet Hart is just OK and you guys "may or may not have somebody who will breakout."

Santonio Holmes is the best WR in the nation according to you guys, never mind the fact that his stats are mediocre. Oh, and Troy Smith is equal to or better than Chad Henne because of one game according to you guys. Your shithole O-line from last season is equal to or possibly better than ours...even though we had a top notch O-line and return 4 starters- including Sophmore-to-be Jake Long andh a slew of top100 players backing them all up.

What else did I miss? Oh yeah, your TEs are equal to ours even though your top 3 TEs had a combined total of 19 catches, 212 yards, and 2 Tds last season- but yeah they are equal to 2 returning All-B10ers who had better numbers than that individually.
