Screen Resolution Help

ugh. I just got my new work laptop which kicks ass except for the screen res. The best it can do is 1024x768. From a spec page online:

For an enhanced visual and graphical experience Lenovo has incorporated the 128MB ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 HyperMemory chipset

Is there anything I can do to get better resolution than that? I feel like I'm in high school again with these big ass icons.

Most likely wouldnt be the vid card that it has to do with. The screens can only do a certain resolution. What brand and model is the laptop.

Honestly, if your display settings won't let it go any higher then you are probably bummed. I have a tiny little dell Laptop that is stuck at 800x600, you can check the manufacturer's website for drivers for the vid card and monitor but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Hrm... you might want to check the device manager to make sure the drivers are showing up correctly, according to http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=2961&review=ThinkPad+R60 the max resolution is 15" SXGA+ Screen (1400 x 1050).

looks like they cheaped out on me and got the 14" version. does that change anything? (the device manager doesn't show anything wrong).

Depends on the type of screen. Whether it's tft, xga, lmnop, etc, etc. Would have to know more about it.
