For Urban Meyer, the defensive line is the most important aspect of a championship team. You can tell, because he recruits the DL relentlessly. He has already offered nearly 20 players a chance to play at OSU for 2015 and is always trying to lure the best of the best to Ohio. One DL he is trying to lure is Florida’s Scott Patchan.

Patchan is from Tampa, Florida. Meyer loves recruiting kids from the south, especially those with unique physical abilities. At 6’6” 230 lbs, Patchan has been clocked at 4.53 in the forty. This is freakish speed for a defensive lineman, and that makes Patchan the kind of player Meyer covets ...... continued ....

This kid has the athleticism a coach would love to see on the D line. He seems kind of lanky and has long arms, and can put on 15-20lbs and still keep that athleticism. Definitely a recruit to keep a watch on, since we're always going to need to bring in multiple DEs in each class.

Yikes, I want one! Extremely raw but so much talent and length. Will need to bulk up, be more violent with his hands, and develop some rush technique but he has all the talent in the world. Uncanny how similar to his brother he is in terms of build. Really hope that the Patchan family is still on the Urban Meyer train.
