Of course coaches have the hard decision of 5th year, fully mature, familiar with the system, 3rd string player ; or the unknown development of a HS Senior.

It also makes a difference if the guy's able to graduate in 4 years. If a guy has his degree but has a year of eligibility left, I don't think it's a harsh move for a coach to let the guy know that it's best for the team if he moves on.

As of today Mich. has five spots left in this year's recruiting class. What I'm hearing is that if and when they go past that number some 5th year seniors will be shown the door. Three of them were specifically named but I'm not going to repeat their names here.
Ohio State has ten spots left for 2012.

Update: since my original post, D.J. Williamson has been shown the door and Mich. has recieved commitments from Gant and Standifer leaving them with 4 openings in the current (2012) class.
