Scenarios for Final CFP Playoff Rankings

If Jonathan Taylor hadn't fumbled after gaining a first down near the red zone in the middle of the 4th quarter at Illinois, starting the Illini comeback; Wiscy would have been #4 yesterday, ahead of Georgia. A 38-7 loss to #1 is better than a loss to a 4-8 team.

Such small things make the difference in how opponents are perceived.

And I'd like the committee to disclose what strength of schedule metric they use. I think it's skewed by the ACC and SEC having 8-game conference schedules, making them over-value teams from those leagues.

Exactly. Bucks performance last night was concerning. Yes, the comeback was good and facing adversity and beating it has benefits. But what we’ve seen over the past 3 weeks is not a team peaking at the right time and that kind of play won’t win 2 more games.

What you saw was a team play a 3 week meat grinder against 2 top 10 and a top 15 rival at their house. All very physical games. Nobody is worried about peaking in that stretch, they just want to win.

All you have to know is the practicing non contact last week. That sounds crazy, but it's obvious this team is banged up and worn down. And yet they got stronger in the 2nd half.

I'm not mad at being the 2nd seed. LSU is a great team with the best offense since Okie/Florida '08. I expected it to happen unless OSU beat Wisconsin by 30. But I am pissed that OSU is held to a higher standard than other teams and has to go through a much tougher road than anyone else after winning every single game by 10+.

My final say is this: If you take OSU's resume and results (4 top 25 wins, top opponent win %, every win by 11+ points) and instead place them under a top SEC team's name, they're the #1 undisputed team and before they won anything, ESPN would be talking about them being a team of the decade. What does it take to be a #1 seed? Win every game by 15? 20? Change conferences? At this point I have no idea.

 You think the Earth is flat, too? Clemson is playing as well as anyone, if not better. They started slow but obviously they have hit their stride.

I bet Ohio state would be “hitting their stride” if they played 4 mid level MAC teams to finish off the season. I guess they’ll have to settle for 3 straight wins against top 10 opponents.

Imagine OSU playing Illinois, Maryland, Nebraska, and Indiana to end their season. And then getting hyped as the most feared based on the results of that gauntlet.

Well we get a shot at the Confederate States championship we are the only outlier it’s been all South. WT Sherman’s coming you better git, Lol Someday they may invite the rest of the nation to host their Provincial Tournament.
The rest of the nation will have to catch up first!

who else should have gotten in? I could understand anybody saying the top 4 should be in a different order, but I think once again, the committee for the participants correct.

Don’t mind the participants or order. Domes in Indy Minn. and Detroit. Instead of LSU and Ga having home games.i said host a game now and then.

Ah.

They know nobody wants to travel up there in the winter, and there is more potential for travel issues and cancellations. Thats why you have seen west coast games and southern games only.

Who would not want to come to Minnesota or Detroit in the winter? That is why tens of thousands of Southerners move North when they retire.

Is this supposed to be a playoff or an exhibition game to get midwesterners to the south or west? Maybe we can switch March madness and have southeast, atlantic, southwest, and west regions. Can't ask anyone to travel to the scary cold midwest in march, there might still be snow some places.
