Our safeties have had a tough time playing fast but slowing down enough to get square to the ball carrier in space. Bell blows a play up at 100 mph. and goes straight through his man, no arm tackling BS we saw for the most of last year. He is excellent in coverage and would be far from a liability in that regard but if he adjusts to the speed of the game at the collegiate level (I can't foresee that being an issue), I think he could be an upgrade when we have to defend players in space. At the very least I see Bell getting plenty of PT against pass heavy teams. I'm not sure who he supplants to do it, as Powell and Pittsburgh have looked good, but he simply brings an element to our defense that nobody else does.
