Defensive back Ron Tanner from Columbus (Ohio) Eastmoor said over the weekend he plans to announce his college choice on Friday, but was not sure what time the announcement would come.

Tanner just called me and said the announcement will be at 10:00 am Friday in the library at Eastmoor High School.

Tanner narrowed his list of 20 plus scholarship offers down to Ohio State, Northwestern, Michigan State, Arizona State and Stanford.

The 6-foot-1 and 190-pound Tanner was a varsity starter for the Warriors his sophomore year when he played safety. During his junior season the left-hander started at both safety and quarterback. He had a great season making close to 90 tackles with seven interceptions. Tanner threw for over 1,200 yards as the Warriors finished 8-3.

The Buckeyes have recruited Tanner as a safety.
