S Carolina -6.5 at Vandy (ov/un 45.5) Thu 7 ET, ESPN

#9 Gamecocks struggling on the road. Of course, what do you expect when you have to go to such a hostile environment as Dudley (Doright) Field to open. If Vandy pulls off the upset, look for USC to drop all the way to #10 and Vandy to move into the top 10.

Another year, another #15-20ish S Carolina team that gets rewarded with a top-10 ranking thanks to the accomplishments of conference mates

Is it that South Carolina's offense just sucks or is vandy's d really, really good?

IMO Vandy would seem to have some decent players on defense...but uSc iis just terrible as far as I'm concerned..5 punts in a row...kinda says it all. Play calling doesn't seem to be very good either.

Just so we're clear here: The supposed #9 team in the country is being forced to play their very mediocre starting QB thru injury to try to avoid losing to VANDERBILT.

In other words, we're back to the typical season-opening performance by South Carolina. I can at least appreciate the way they troll us by doing this every year. We are all starving after eight months without college football, and they know we'll gratefully sit thru this shit sandwich.

At least the nightcap looks like it could be entertaining.
