First, I don't believe Eddie Jordan is the answer, but completely giving up shouldn't be an option. A program might not have facilities or resources, but someone just shouldn't give up. Finding solutions within the current structure should be what they're looking at.

It probably starts by going completely outside of the box.

Then again, someone like Southern California, TCU, and/or South Carolina don't have a prayer, so sometimes schools are just screwed.

If small schools like Xavier can compete in basketball, Rutgers should have no problems. I'm guessing the administration just doesn't value athletics enough to raise the money for updated facilities, at least for basketball.

A separate thread for Rutgers basketball:shake: I do not know why this was not put in the B1G basketball thread.. Having said that, Rutgers women's program is pretty damn good and they pay their women's coach a ton of a ton of money. While I know the coaches salary has nothing to do with facilities, it does say that they want their women's program to excel and it looks like they could give a shit about the men's program.

Rutgers head coach Eddie Jordan graduates

Eddie Jordan was hired by Rutgers in 2013. The move was a wise one on the university’s part, bringing in an alumnus to take over the program in the wake of the Mike Rice scandal, which cost the coach and the athletic director their jobs.

Shortly after he was hired, it was revealed that Jordan, the MVP of the 1976 East Regional, had never received his degree from Rutgers. On Friday, Jordan graduated with a bachelor of science degree in Labor and Employment Relations inside the same building where he coaches.
