Rutgers 30, South Florida 27 (final)

Rutgers already has two home losses, they haven't played a defense like USF.

All in on da Bulls!

Be careful. I know USF won on the road at Auburn, but they also struggled on the road just two weeks ago at FAU and that was just a short bus trip. Ray Rice went for 212 yards on their defense last year.

Pressure of #2 is unknown for a school like USF. If history is any indication, USF collapses under the weight. Rutgers last year... breaks the top 10... loses.... Happened to Kentucky this year as well.... It'll happen to BC too... is my guess.

The story will turn from "Gosh, isn't USF such a great story" to "Hey, do you fuckers really think you have what it takes?"

Teams like Ohio State, USC, LSU, Oklahoma... you know.. the traditional powers.... they've dealt with the pressure before.... dealt with the hype... know they're not as good as the hype. Time will tell if USF (or BC, for that matter) is up to the task.

People think a lot of USF for that spread.

All I have been hearing for two days is how USF should be rated #1 - and based on accomplishments thus far I tend to agree.

But if OSU were playing at Rutgers this week what would you imagine the spread to be?

Scrap the BCS and watch the Vegas odds - the only unbiased poll around.

I can see your point based on perceived accomplishments but lets ask the question another way. How many points do you think USF or Rutgers could score against our defense. ? I would take our defense against either of them and I think our offense could score enough to win. With that in mind I say we are n01.

The thing I liked about South Florida is how their defense is always going to be there, and they have been solid, and that they have a QB in Grothe who is as gritty as they come. For only a sophomore, this kid really plays with a swagger and even though he will make some mistakes, I think he has that unconscious competitive fire that allows him to remain unfazed under intense situations.

I like my qb's to have that competitive fire. Krenzel had it. CK also had the ability to make the right decision very nearly every time.

Groethe is going to get the Bulls beat. I have put v$ on it happening this week, but it may not. It absolutely WILL happen before Thanksgiving.
