Now, while all the matchups in the first round arent' the most intriguing, there are a couple that could be good games. Boise St-PSU, OSU-TTU. Knowing the way Texas played against OSU in the bowl game, the UT-East Carolina game has potential to be good. But, in a playoff, you don't have a month layoff, so teams continue to play in mid-season form.

Texas didn't play particularly well. They were certainly suffering from the month layoff. Now, if you want to attribute that to the osu defense, that is your prerogative. East Carolina had a good defense as well, so I'd imagine they'd have some of the same successes against the UT offense.

Lordy, you can't even mention OSU without someone on here thinking you're bashing them. I didn't even say anything about OSU, only how Texas played against them.

Now, seeing that I'm a Buckeye fan, my reading comprehension may not be too good (:p).....but are you suggesting that UT would struggle against ECU because they struggled against OSU? :tic:

No, you didn't mention OSU....but that was pretty clearly a swipe at OSU.

The fuck you didn't. You took a backhanded swipe at the Buckeyes by saying that the only reason it was close is because Texas sucked that night. East Carolina's D isn't on the same fucking planet as tOSU's, and you know it.

If you didn't mean it like that, then why would you think I thought you were bashing them? Because I asked you to explain? You knew exactly what the fuck you were doing and now you're trying to back pedal because I called you on it.

Haha, no. All I'm saying is that Texas looked pretty rusty after having a month off. And like others in this thread have said, in a playoff, anything can happen in one game. East Carolina was a team that started the year real hot, and cooled, but overall, they played good defense. I just think the potential first round game of East Carolina and Texas has the possibility of being a decent game. Were talking like 10% here.

I'm just grasping at straws a little in response to the notion that all first round matchups, in a playoff, suck.

Sorry to disappoint, but no. That's all you guys do on here is bash UM, and anytime some fan, not from osu, even mentions osu, you guys jump 'em. Case in point, this very situation.

If your name was "OSU ROCKS", I don't think you would've taken that cheap shot. Texas was rusty? Right, our D had nothing to do with it. That would be like me saying that your fuckstick of a head coach had nothing to do with your nine losses last year. Toledo was just that good.

I'm not sure where I said I was upset. I just find it funny that you guys can look at the smallest, most insignificant part of a post, and turn it into a UM vs. OSU pissing match. I'm on here because there is actually some decent content if you can get through all the bullshit that some users post. Now, I'm not in a OSU THREAD talking about UM. This is a thread about a college football playoff.

Again, my whole argument was that the East Carolina vs. Texas game COULD HAVE BEEN an intriguing matchup.
