  • Ohio State has more RB Heisman Trophies than any other school with five (Janowicz, Cassady, Griffin x 2, George). It is truly "Running Back University". In comparison USC has four (Garrett, Simpson, White, Allen) and Oklahoma has three (Vessels, Owens, Sims).

Now why would a running back want to go anywhere else?

And, add a little more separation by adding Byars in 1984 to the list. Anyone who watched CFB that year knew Keith was the best player. Plain and simple.

I also am one who cannot understand why any top-flight back wouldn't want to come here. This is a "RBU" The offense is suited for one "stud" RB to come in and take over, one only needs to look back to Wells or Clarett for verification of that. Plus, I want BIG backs in the 220-230 lb. range. I want guys like Byars, George, Harris, Wells, Clarett who make the defender get hurt on the collision. In my opinion, we recruited a back this year who is no better than Pittman. Wells is a tiny back, is there any indication that he is the second coming of Archie? Is there any indication that he is better than Ray Williams or Tyrell Sutton who we didn't even recruit? At this point, I'm holding out for seeing a bigger Haw come to camp next year. To me, He is the back of the future, with about 20 more lbs. on his frame.

Yeah, and OJ should've won it in '67. He was more deserving in 67 than Byars was in 84.

This past year there were two schools with two Heisman candidates. Bush was probably the best player but Leinart won the award. Next year we'll find out if Peterson was the best player or White's passing gave Peterson the opportunity for those long runs.
