Hang on Sloopy blows as a tradition. It has minimal fan participation in boring noon games and thrilling night games alike.
15-20% of fans mumbling along not knowing any words until O-H-I-O is pretty lame in any circumstance, but especially as massively popular third quarter break traditions emerge elsewhere. Changing it is perfectly fine, in my opinion.
The reason to move the band playing hang on sloppy to any point in the third quarter is so that a fun third quarter break can emerge that people actually participate in that isn’t lame shit from the 60s that no one cares about anymore, as evidenced by the previously mentioned minimal and unenthusiastic participation at current games.

Never thought id live to see the day a Buckeye fan called Sloopy some lame shit from the 60s. And the reason there's no fan participation is because they've priced fans out of the games. Our games are becoming big house esqe. Can't wait for Ross Djork to implement the 3rd quarter key jangle.
