Rose Bowl BMW Thread, #8 tOSU vs #1 Oregon

Man. Today has a little something for everyone. New playoff format, we're in it against the number 1 team looking for revenge and who won the whole thing the last time they expanded it an who did that team beat in the finals?

For those of you who wish it was still 1997... We're playing the pac 10 champs in the rose bowl.

I thought about that and how perfect it is that Ohio State plays Oregon in the Rose Bowl with a prototypical B1G vs Pac 12 matchup. I was there the last time we played Oregon in the Rose Bowl and hoping the end result is the same.

Ohio State football vs. Oregon: Rose Bowl prediction

Will Howard played his best game as a Buckeye against the Vols last week. It was the most comfortable we've seen him be. He threw for over 300 yards in the first matchup between these teams, and it's likely that it will happen again. He wants the team to keep playing angry.

Final prediction: Ohio State football 38 Oregon 35

This is the first prediction that stuck in my mind once this matchup was announced. I haven't wavered. After watching more film, I firmly believe that the Buckeyes can win this game. If they can keep Jeremiah Smith and Emeka Egbuka involved, the offense is going to be elite.

The Ohio State defense has been the best defense in the country since the first matchup. That game showed that the Buckeyes needed to overhaul the defense. They did that, and now teams can't move the ball on them. I expect Oregon to play well offensively, but one final stand is where the Buckeyes win this game.

My lingering negative thought for this thread is Lanning outclasses Day.

I mean, if Sherron Moore got Day in a haze, Lanning who actually has coaching chops and juice may put Day in a headlock.

Hope Ryan keeps his playoff aggression and lets the kids feed off it. And I hope I’m not in this thread later.
