Game Thread Rose Bowl, #8 tOSU vs #1 Oregon, Jan 1, 5:00 ET on ESPN

Oh, don't get me wrong, I totally agree. But, it definitely feels like we are seeing formations and plays that haven't been put on tape and have been specifically saved for the playoffs. That said there was still a Grand Canyon sized gap between the offensive game plan for games 1-11 and whatever the fuck we trotted out in The Game.

My rage at the outcome of that game is somewhat tempered by my utter befuddlement.
I think I agree with everything you say in this post. There was a "Grand Canyon sized gap" between what we saw in Games 1-11, and Games 13-14. I'm not even looking at Game 12. Ohio State made Tennessee and Oregon look like Akron. And they made Nebraska look like Penn State.

I don't think they sandbagged anything. But the "befuddlement" of The Game is.... befuddling. (I like that word, now.)

Nah we’ve seen a lot of this stuff. JJ in a tight slot was the touchdown vs Nebraska, we’ve seen the short crosser (JJ first touchdown) quite a bit this year as well. The Scott first play looked new but the rest was pretty standard stuff.

The difference is how they’re calling plays and how they’re sequencing from what I can tell. We are throwing early instead of run run pass which is the biggest change I think.

Because I am an old man, can someone explain the belt reference to me? Did Oregon say they were going to take the belt to OSU?
It’s become the latest popular term by the kids the last 3 months. Instead of beatdown or opening a can of whoop ass, they’re saying they took the belt to ass (or BTA/B2A).

Nothing personal against Oregon here. But they were on the receiving end last night.
