Robert Nkemdiche (DL Arizona Cardinals)

"Sources" indicated that he's going to visit Florida this weekend.

Robert Nkemdiche will take a visit to Florida this weekend, per 247 Sports, meaning the school could be amongst three in the running for the top recruit in the nation. Nkemdiche, formerly a Clemson recruit, had previously narrowed his choices to Ole Miss and LSU, and was planning visits to both schools, but seemingly wasn't interested in scheduling any other visits. Florida wasn't considered in the running until news broke of his intended visit.

when I was working for the FSU basketball department, we 100% lost a previously committed kid who changed his mind last minute to go to Arkansas. The lead recruiter was told by his contact that his mother got a high paying job in Little Rock. It happens. A lot.

The nation?s No. 1-rated prospect, defensive end Robert Nkemdiche from Grayson High School in Loganville, Ga., has set up an official visit to LSU for the weekend of Feb. 2, according to sources. Nkemdiche will not be alone on his visit as he will be accompanied by his father and teammate David Kamara, a highly touted 5-foot-11, 175-pound cornerback.
This is welcomed news to LSU fans as Nkemdiche has been a top target for LSU and defensive line coach Brick Haley, who recently visited Nkemdiche at his high school. Nkemdiche also has scheduled visits to Florida and Kentucky, but with LSU getting his final visit before National Signing Day on Feb. 6, the Tigers remain in a very good position.

Denzel and Robert Nkemdiche file counter-suit against accuser

Ole Miss’ Denzel and Robert Nkemdiche have denied all allegations made against them in a $2 million civil suit.

In addition, the Nkemdiches filed a counter-claim against plaintiff Matthew Baird. The two are seeking an unspecified amount in damages for what they say are “untrue and false statements” in Baird’s original suit. An answer to that suit and a counter-claim was filed Thursday in Lafayette County Circuit Court.

Baird filed his claim on Feb. 14, alleging that the Nkemdiche brothers as well as five unnamed individuals beat him while he was unconscious outside of the Kappa Alpha fraternity house on Feb. 17, 2013. Baird alleges that Denzel Nkemdiche first attacked him, then Robert Nkemdiche and the others stomped on his head.

Ole Miss has publicly defended the brothers, and Robert Nkemdiche remains a member in good standing on the football team. Denzel Nkemdiche is suspended and will miss the team’s season opener against Boise State, but the punishment was because of an unrelated incident in February.

Ole Miss suspends Denzel Nkemdiche for Boise State opener

We knew already Ole Miss had suspended Denzel Nkemdiche from the team while a legal issue is sorted out. Now we know that suspension will carry over to the season opener for the Rebels against Boise State.

As spring practice opened in Oxford, Ole Miss head coachHugh Freeze addressed Nkemdiche’s status with the team. Nkemdiche will sit out the first game of the season against Boise State.

Profanity-laced video could lengthen Denzel Nkemdiche’s suspension

Denzel Nkemdiche could wind up being suspended for more than Ole Miss’ season-opener against Boise State after a video surfaced on YouTube of the linebacker directing a profanity-laced tirade toward a group of people believed to be rival fans.

The video, according to AL.com, has since been deleted from YouTube. But coach Hugh Freeze saw it, and said he’d consider lengthening Nkemdiche’s suspension stemming from an arrest earlier this year.

“I’m not happy with him, not proud of it, hope he’s not. It’s definitely not what we want to be about and the way you want to handle (a situation) regardless of what initiated it or caused it,” Freeze said, via DJournal.com. “There’s a way to handle adversity and controversy, and it’s certainly not that, and that’s been made clear to him.”
