Rivals/Scout/etc. National & Regional Rankings

Clark's season did him little favors. He didn't put up the video game numbers that make rankings jump. And he does few camps outside of OSU. Still an amazing start
It was actually his sophomore season that is currently hurting him the most. Phenomenal as a freshman, putrid as a sophomore (others who follow Ohio HS football more closely may know how much was him vs. the team around him), and then this past year he was solid. Not a stud, but solid. We'll know next year if he can be the next great Buckeye QB or potentially a guy OSU took a tad too early. I actually wouldn't hate to go after the Texas AM QB from the same HS as Garrett. If Texas AM has another bad year we could flip him and he has the feel of a Johnny Football type of player. As long as he's Johnny Football on the field and not off, he could be a great college QB. It would also help with Tyjon Lindsey.

Edit: And to clarify, I mean I wouldn't hate if they take two QBs. Not getting rid of Clark. And I'm not sure how much I like the idea since it's already a small class. That, and Clark is such a great recruiter and great kid that it wouldn't feel right. But Urban will do what's best for the team. If Clark shows early next year that he may not have "it" like many originally thought, I could see them going after another QB if he's the right guy.

Small class is right. Hard to believe we take 2 qbs.

Martell Tate is a guy you take no matter what imo, especially with our system and how well he would fit. He is one of the more exciting college prospects I have watched and think he could be big time. That being said, not sure if there is a high level of mutual interest there yet.

I wouldn't say much, but there is this (I hate BR, but it's all I could find on Google to get what I had read ad elsewhere) :
.

Though Martell grew up rooting for Ohio State, he spent his formative years in Southern California. His high school career started at Poway High School in San Diego County.
Now I think that if he flips from Texas AM it would he to USC. Which at the same time would hurt osu for Tyjon Lindsey.

Edit: not sure why my pasting the link turns it into the video. The above quote was from an article. But basically grew up an OSU fan but grew up in California.

Agree to disagree, but I don't think there's a way the staff takes Martell even if he wants in because of class size. I worried about the Clark commit from the beginning and thought we went in too early on him. Many thought I was crazy, but QB is way too hard to project, we could've waited a few years to go after Clark. I hope he turns the corner and balls out as a senior, but he showed me little in his junior year. Too many other talented guys that were in on at too many other important positions to take another QB, IMO. We kind of made our bed with Clark

I'm still overjoyed to have Danny Clark. His talent is unquestioned; how he develops that talent is yet to be determined. But his potential is off the charts.

The Buckeyes have an intriguing mix of demonstrated talent (JT Barrett; Dwayne Haskins) and mouthwatering potential (Clark and Burrow) over the next few years. Given that QB is a position where one can't tell whether 5-star ratings are ever going to pan out (Situation being hopeless), I'm very happy with where we are.

My goodness. You could easily make a case that OSU leads for half of the top 10.

@Bestbuck36 Rivals held their rankings meeting last week before his impressive display in Orlando yesterday at the The Opening regional. He'll have plenty of opportunities to showcase at IMG to the powers that be.

To be honest, I think we land half of that top 10. Not my wishlist, that is my actual guess. I see Grimes, Wade and Myers all in this class. Okudah is very likely and I like where we stand. I think we are trending up quick on Kaindoh and he alone would make 5 of the top 10. Then you have Wilson, who I think we are very much in it for and then Harris, who is a longshot but not an impossibility. No matter how it shakes out, 2017 is going to be insane.
