Rivalries and Conferences (Split from LSU v. OSU Offensive Personnel Thread)

This is a different type of championship game bud.

If you think the SEC Championship game provides any where near the pressure of every OSU/Michigan game (regardless of records) you're sadly mistaken.

Every SEC match up provides the same pressure as the OSU/UM game. I can name 4 games this season that LSU played with more pressure that the OSU/Michigan match of this year and last year.

Ok, I have stayed out of this for the most part but let me think for a second, so there's going to be shows made about the LSU+Anyone rivalry? Yes, any team can beat any other team on any given week, but the pressure to beat your rival is on a completely different level. Also, the entire nation is watching, you have bragging rights like most can't understand on the line, I mean when I die I want my ashes spread around Ohio Stadium, I have family who won't even let themselves have a lay-over in Michigan when they are flying someplace. Sure, we may not understand the south, but this statement makes it obvious that you don't understand Ohio, at all...

Guys, I am sorry for Michigan to be a rival, they actually need to win one every once an a while. LSU/Auburn is a massive rivalry and newsflash, the entire nation is normally watching that game.

You don't get it, but I don't get the south, so it's understandable.

I guess you don't remember the 90s....that's ok we have quite a few younger members here at BP....:roll2:

massive? Maybe in northern Louisiana and for Auburn fans in Alabama, but the rest of the SEC doesn't really care much less the rest of the country outside of fans of those teams.....

I have given up Jwins, it's obvious, now that I live in Cali, that the tOSU/tsun game is only seen in Ohio and Michigan.
I love watching SEC football. LSU-Auburn is a good matchup, but wasn't one of the 5 games I was pumped to see this year.

Auburn is Penn State with more colorful uniforms. Actually, that might be an insult to the woeful Morelli offense.

I will give you that but believe me, OSU/UM is not that great of a game anymore...

I agree 100%, but it seems that most of the LSU fans don't really get THE GAME at all. I don't know if anyone realizes the records who visits here, but tsun has won a game or two. Not to mention, ever year, regardless of records, that game is on national television here.

I wouldn't say Auburn is Penn State, but I would say they do play a good Wisconsin, they manage to pull out games where you least expect it. I don't want to dis-respect the SEC, they play great football, we have a Georgia alum at the office who is a total douchebag, so I watch a lot. But on the same hand, I have been good about not taking anything from your conference, don't take anything away from mine.
