But the impact that Jobs had on the world ranks up there with guys like Thomas Edison and Henry Ford - inventors that actually changed the way people live their everyday lives.

Those were the two names I though of immediately. Schoolchildren are going to be learning about him in history classes - fittingly, probably not by reading textbooks, but by using one of his devices or one of it's antecedents.

I hope beyond hope that when one of these [censored]ers die someone pickets their funeral.

Forget picketting, I hope nobody even attends the funerals of those miserable sub-humans.

His contributions to film are being (understandably) overlooked. Animated films wouldn't be what they've become without him.

WALL-E wouldn't have been made without him (:tongue2:). PIXAR wouldn't have existed.

Therefore, numby wouldn't have been made fun of on here, and he wouldn't have gotten to where he is now. For that, Mr. Jobs, we thank you

Interesting guy. A huge asshole in many ways, apparently, but with genius comes eccentricity and a degree of egomania.

But it is clear that his contribution to the world far outweighs the individual slights he made - like ignoring his first child and claiming that he was sterile, so that the mother and his daughter were forced to live on welfare for awhile until paternity was established. Or in his refusal to meet/speak with the biological parents who had given him up for adoption.

Thomas Edison might have been as asshole too, but nobody using light bulbs cares now. I'm glad Jobs focused on his inventions and not on his social skills.

Even geniuses are assholes and do stupid stuff, nobody is immune.

condemning him for "teaching his neighbors to sin." While their actual reasons for promoting the picket seem a bit unclear, how Phelps made the announcement is causing quite a stir (and garnering a few laughs).

She tweeted from an iPhone.

I said now. While she doesn't care now, I'm sure that she cared then.

Youtube has a post of Topsy sucking current - but my respect for the sensitivities of BP prevents me from linking the video. :p

 I similarly refrained.
