There are a couple of things at play here.
First, yesterday was the last day for Ricky to file for arbitration and a re-hearing on this. He did not. Now, at least in theory, the only way he could get out of paying the Dolphins back the money he owes, is to declare that he is bankrupt.
If the Dolphins should decide to place a lien on Ricky for the money, his agent's contention is that would make Ricky's contract void and make Ricky a free agent. Of course, Spielman and Wayne H, don't see it that way, so it would be something for a judge to decide.
Saban has left the door open to Ricky so he can either:
1) See if Ricky has any value left that could be used by the Dolphins.
and/or more likely
2) Setup a trade to Oakland, who has expressed intrest in him.
Knowing Ricky, I was shocked when this happened. He had allways felt that he would just sit out the suspension. Next thing we knew, he was in the Outback of Australia.
In October, Jason Taylor (Akron) throws a Halloween party. Jason came dressed as Ricky (bald guy wearing dread locks) with a back pack and camping gear.
