Ricky Williams (official thread)

I also think taking a look at the Oline played a role, too. He had nowhere to run last year, and his line would've been even worse this year.

Maybe they can hand the ball off to DBoston. He's a load.

I feel sorry for the dolphin fans. Can't say I'm really suprised. He's been unhappy since he came into the league. Does he think he's Barry Sanders??
interestingly enough, Barry Sanders recently said that he was not opposed to a comeback, as long as he would be playing for the Dolphins, since he lives in Miami...

I've consulted my sources and I talked to Ricky today. Here is what he tells me. It seems to be a 'misunderstanding' (which seems to happen a lot in Miami). Ricky reads the papers, and somehow he thought they were reporting that he had been arrested 11 times. He worried that football had turned him into such a demon that he didn't even remember many of the things he did. So he has decided to run away and seek the only drug that can fight demons: pot.

As a Dolphin fan, I am crushed.

I don't get the part about Paxil interfering with his diet. Paxil and other SSRIs are usually very well tolerated. Maybe the Paxil got him to go out more and eat out more and thus to gain weight. :roll1:
Of course, marijuana is used by AIDS patients to help with their appetite, so who knows...

Bucklion, he might. He probably would have to get one of those Garo Yapremion or Mark Mosley vitage helmets though. Or a Joe Thiesmann.

Its unreal the choices he has made in the last few days.
Why is it unreal that someone who doesn't have the desire to play football anymore chooses not to. I applaud him for not letting influences like popular societal beliefs and money influence him. He himself said he feels very relieved and happy to have made this decison. Sounds like he made a good decision for himself.

Reported today on the Dan Patrick show that Ricky Williams failed his 3rd drug test and was to be suspended the first 4 games. This helped him decide to retire. Drugs were more important to him than the loyalty to his team and coaches. What a waste!
