Rich Rodriguez (official thread of last laughs)

Why the cloak and dagger meeting in Toledo?
Because the coach of a major BCS school who has flirted in the past with leaving the program getting on a plane to Toledo, Ohio raises no curiosity in the media, whereas the same coach getting on a plane to the home of the school conducting a media circus of a coaching search causes the rumor sirens to go AHWOOGA AHWOOGA RED ALERT RED ALERT BATTLE STATIONS!!!!! Something that was in both parties' best interest to avoid if Michigan ever wanted to hire a coach.

Question is, given the ridiculousness that surrounded the whole Les Miles deal, why would a meeting in a neutral location be such a bad thing?

Interesting thing on the fundraising by the way. Given the uproar of "we love the 'Neers and hate Rich Rodriguez" that's been swirling in Virginia Junior, do you suppose the judge could find that his departure was a net benefit to the school and award damages to RR? :wink2:

Substitute Herbie for May and we agree, buck.
:roll2:

But seriously, because ESPN says 'get over it' we all should? It looks like RRs got a good argument for the purposes of the lawsuit, but seriously, he's a classless douchebag. At first I was kinda worried about the hire affecting The Game but the more I think about it he's the perfect fit for you guys.

Since when has Toledo been a neutral location? The only reason Toledo isn't still part of that state up north is because WE lost that war.

Is RR still going to make a speech during halftime of tonight's basketball game?

His speech will be at halftime of the game at Crisler, but I really wish he would come to the Schott to do one tonight. I'm sure it would be a warm and welcoming reception. :paranoid:

Aside from this last game I like the Tigers. I love Tiger Rag and Purple and Gold as colors, football Fridays in Baton Rouge, a very traditional uniform and Everybody's All American is the best football film ever, BUT LSU is not a "year in, year out' power in the SEC and they've gone through some very long dry spells between Gov. Huey 'Kingfish" Long and Paul Dietzel, Chollie Mac and Saban/Myles.

You may note that I left Auburn and Georgia off the list for much the same reason. I would concede that all three have a better shot at becoming a what-could-be-better situation than Wisconsin or Michigan State, but given the history and money pattern of the SEC I wouldn't count on it.

lsu should most certainly be on the list. probably moreso than any other school. they are after all the only school that can say scum offered their coach and he turned them down.
